MAGIC IN FAMILIAR SURROUNDINGS
This place needs no introduction at all - our world was once limited to its mauve
horizon and turquoise waves I happily told you about at least several times
before (through breathtaking views at spring or thrill-seeking traipsing). Even rowdy
seagulls seem to remember our short appearance by giving us sideways glances or
eagerly gathering around in anticipation of a chip or two. It's been a
thousandth time I stare in amazement at the open sea adorned in white spots of
wind seeking boats, yet I can go on for hours. On an oddly warm day with my
hardly finding time in her busy work schedule friend and invigorated brother me
and Nadia were the only parties who excitedly led our tiny group to well-known
and much-loved destinations commencing with unbeatable supply of fish and chips
acknowledging toddler's energetic habits. We've already eaten our weight in
this British staple meal this week but will
never refuse a standard portion of battered cod and large helping of deep-fried
golden chips accompanied by a tartar sauce (let me just pause for a moment for
my imagination to retain the flavour).
Still
amazingly quiet streets hold their charms buzzing with a noisy seagull or two,
an odd motorbike whooshes just right in front of us while Nadia turns up her
nose at dull walking and dances, jumps, lets her feet in silver pumps
glistening in the sunshine take her far ahead of us.
A
good amount of time was dedicated to swaying around the casino trying to get
our small change back. Without luck but the first attempts kept us high until
stuffed animals on gambling machines dropped off of the wired arms too far to get
our hands on them. It was Nadia's first visit to the colourful hideaway and she
loved every penny falling out (beginnings were awesome, the end not so much)
unknowingly leading my friend to bankruptcy. We won nothing but had time of our
lives and will be confidently coming back.
This shop is an art show -
paintings and jewellery, souvenirs for a pound seventy five, gifts for all ages
and moods, trinkets held once and dusted monthly. Not coming here while
visiting Swanage would be impossible for my curiosity as its supplies
change seasonally if not more often.
^^ Once a girl learns the right moves she'll find her ballroom everywhere ^^ |
When
day moved towards the evening we sat smiling softly in subdued lighting of
vanishing sun eating chocolate and lemon ice cream maintaining the illusion of
having all the time in the world for languorous lounging. We left the sea,
seagulls and pigeons hopping about the sidewalks saying our goodbyes.
Have a great
weekend lovelies! x
