DAYS YOU'D OTHERWISE NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH

DAYS YOU'D OTHERWISE NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH

These days it's all about mental stimulation - from story telling to rhyming, taking alphabet by storm, focusing on numbers and their purpose and generally investigating paths Nadia's imagination is shifting through. Hands stay not less occupied, literally every week new ideas turn to projects that turn to real objects that turn to garbage... eventually. No, not really. Most of them are stored away in boxes for trips down the memory lane in near future. Weekends or not we pack lightly and go out on child-friendly adventures. I don't stress over the small stuff - if it rains, it will stop even if there's never good news in soaking through so sometimes we stay dry for three hours and sometimes it rained every twelve minutes. Keep calm, you will feel normal again.

Also the kind of piece of clothing Nadia is more than sure about and talks about it in the most delightful way is... a bra. I mean, four and a half year old will easily remind her mama when the right time comes. And if she decided to need one, certain purchase was in order. If you own more than you can wear, you reach for the basics. It’s not even the right size! But it works and it kind of stays on forever and life’s pretty awesome again.

NO DRASTIC WARDROBE DECISIONS JUST YET
NO DRASTIC WARDROBE DECISIONS JUST YET

Things race along with and without reason these days and my duty is to keep a wide eye on their intensity especially when one's world is seen a lot from other side of the camera glass. I can make it lie but only for as long as the shutter button is half pressed before the light emerges in visible form of objects, colour saturation, faces. Those I'm never enough of noticing. No longer a baby I'm photographing, the series will not be about preschooler anymore and the realization is already making me cringe. Yeah, it might be fun if she allows me to rekindle our love affair with the Canon body when she's 16 (hardly believe it but let's keep dreaming) pulling together a box of clothes to play a little dress up. Maybe she'd even bring her girlfriends to satisfy crazy mum's wish to keep this blog alive. Hey, why not? Now that I'm aware of that, of how fast it's happening I'm becoming weirdly passionate about it. I'm sure we'll have fun dressing up no matter our age or style defined permanently or only for weekends. I'll let it come, battery ready and charged. Until then I'm insanely fond of little adventure we're having. Sequins or not, we're still a game.

Related on balmy days: We still haven't put the heating on, not once. What a bravery! But no, our windows point straight into sun's face on most sunny days and we live on the top floor of a fairly new building so yeah, it's pretty warm until our first snot. Stay tuned for that magic moment our radiators will have their say. Thanks for visiting the boutique. x

HAVE YOU EVER SAID NO TO ITALIAN? THOUGHT SO.
HAVE YOU EVER SAID NO TO ITALIAN? THOUGHT SO.
HAVE YOU EVER SAID NO TO ITALIAN? THOUGHT SO.

There's no better way to prolong the summer than placing fruit on the table (strawberries and melon, you need some now). Because we've walked past this Italian restaurant on millions of occasions and I've been avoiding pasta due to the imaginary (husband's words) imperfections on the lower stitches of those jeans (but let's not discuss), I just knew I would be able to handle the whole plate of carbohydrates. Or so I thought. The spaghetti carbonara was hot and deliciously creamy but Nadia had other plans so instead of chowing down on it I let it go cold (still deliciously creamy) while visiting the bathroom and chasing her inside the darkened space. You know, being a mum to a girl of an energetic type is sort of exhausting. And who am I to stand in her way? Carbonara isn't that good after all, what d'ya think?
