HOW WE ACHIEVED THE EFFECT WE DID
HOW WE ACHIEVED THE EFFECT WE DID
HOW WE ACHIEVED THE EFFECT WE DID
HOW WE ACHIEVED THE EFFECT WE DID

This tree happened after all of it managed to happen gradually throughout the week. Every evening one more Christmas figurine or decoration appeared as starting points to a bigger event taking place much later. She arrived when the sun was down so didn't get the best of our neighbouthood. She didn't mind which was very sweet and was taken in to overheated indoors loosing a pound of needles the minute a bauble stroked her limbs. Cheers, dear. (We started treating it well and trying to survive this nonsense of a weather just above the acceptable temperature. The heat won't kill us that's for sure). She's our fourth real friend since Nadia was born and we intend never to go without the magic of having a plant indoors from then on (even if it's just for a fortnight). Born and raised on synthetic product my size or younger I was certain I would love Nadia to create long relationships with real needles which I'm excited to report is shaping up rather festively. Our spruce tree was done up the toddler style - cared for and loved at the front and sad and unreasonable where the eye can't reach. But we like it that way, I may rearrange it a little when the coolest decorative assistant is busy elsewhere but only little effort is required to preserve the original layout.

Moving onto the challenge I'm generously sharing in parts (and probably will be for the next five to six months solving you a massive dilemma how to get entertained the easy way) Christmas always brings memories of my own festive seasons from years back when things were rarely preserved digitally. Laud, illuminated, chaotic to the point of finding myself running all over the flat with wrapping paper lying around and everyone being everywhere is what I miss the most and this is how I yearn a holiday spirit to overwhelm like. Untidy but relaxed, a little disorganized or quite possibly all of the above my pad should feel like at Christmas (and at any given time ideally). Nadia makes up for the lack of too many guests around and of course tidying up never gets done the good housewife style so the harmony of our universe is temporarily preserved. Each year when a tree injects magic into our living room my heart rate is beating just that little bit faster as we decorate for the powerful emotional effect it has on us having not much of a religious message in it although we respect it wholeheartedly.

Something or someone that I miss... it is people in general, beloved ones, family members, those coming over without a reason finding me home without a touch of make up but making great coffee. It's the atmosphere that gets displayed through cozy rhythm of lights shimmering in abundance. x

  2. Your tree is so pretty! We haven't had a real one at all since we've been married (they're very expensive here and we live on the third floor), but I miss how great they smell and how fun the texture is. Nadia did a great job decorating the tree. I love that only the bottom half (and the front) are decorated. :)
