the cuteness files, nadia, today-my-way-com

Nadia really loves jumping up on the windowsill (with securely locked windows) in the lounge to greet her friends still chasing balls or riding their bikes on the parking space outside to see who she will have most success with. Most probably she would be already in her pajamas putting the bedtime off a minute or two. One time there was a friend visiting her friend from downstairs and Nadia knocked on the window for the girl to look up. Then she came to me saying that the girl looked up and waved to her. I asked if Nadia waved back. She replied: "No, I didn't. I was shy."

There was this little disturbing pimple on Nadia's cheek once she woke up so she came up to me all concerned asking what colour it was.

We were playing restaurant the other day and I asked what she is serving today. "We have chicken, fries and ketchup." Than went away to check what else and came back saying: "We also serve salt."

Before our visit to Bath I was checking all the attractions we would be visiting telling Damian that most of the places offered free entry for children under five and I kept mindlessly repeating: Nadia is free here, she's free here... Then she said to me all confused: "I'm four, not three."

We like watching Disney classic fairy tales and the other day Nadia came to me saying: "I always cry when there is sad music." Oh, my sensitive little heart. She also cried when the Beast from "Beauty and the Beast" was dying in the arms of Belle.

at the seaside, summer, town entertainment, today my way blog

Not so long ago there was lots of entertainment on the streets of our town, there was sun and tourists rubbed elbows with the local crowd. There was a story to every day through activities or celebration of slow-paced process and I couldn’t help but reminisce those days. I’m especially drawn to the colour of the sky and our rosy complexion positively glowing. Whilst most of the pictures are bright and happy, they introduce a cosy, intimate feel. Today like no other day we need some encouragement as the sky refuses to brighten up since the early morning.

As always we were blown away by the Air Show that entertains us annually and takes the summer away with it. But while it was still matching our mood - it was all about the atmosphere, getting together with others and a sense of belonging to this town. Pilots were masters at playing with gravity through variation of cloud-capped acts whilst making incredible noise. They seemed to do it so effortlessly it looked right playful, theatrical even! There was plenty of open space for Nadia to roam, plenty to indulge ourselves into that one late afternoon.

beauty uniform, beauty routine, today my way blog, make up
I thought I'd share some of my everyday rituals and tell you more about that fringe I felt inspired enough to sport it. Enjoy and let me know your tips! x

What makeup do you wear?
I wear tested products over and over again but quite often splurge on new items that vow to add more glow to my appearance. I don't leave house without a blusher which I apply on the tip of my nose as well for more girlie look. For the eyes I am using a smudge of brown eyeshadow paired with Benefit's They're Real black mascara and just recently brown Essence eye pencil. Sometimes I line my eyes with a liquid liner, most probably to achieve an evening look. I'm not a lipstick girl but just recently have discovered its miraculous influence on my mood so I usually bring color to my lips with pink shade as seen above. When I’m going out, I’ll wear a light foundation with SPF and some concealer.

Do you have any secret little tricks that make you feel great?
Feeling put together, with a light make up and nicely done hair I feel quite great so the days I skip applying colour to my face I'd rather stay indoors and stop confusing people. I love having my nails done, sometimes just a pale beige layer can do wonders, more artful creations are my definite pick me up.

What's your night time routine?
I don't really have routine as such, it mostly depends on my general mood that day or the activities we enjoyed but I love to catch up on some magazines curled up on the sofa while my daughter and husband kill those bad guys on x-box. On the contrary my beauty routine is pretty regimental - I always cleanse before going to bed, put a night cream on before peeling those dead cells off regularly. I mix my products for that purpose - if the cream is more on the expensive side, my peeling happens to get produced in my own kitchen (a mix of  honey, lemon juice and sugar).

What's your stance on bath vs. shower?
I enjoy not complicated showers in the morning but adore occasional baths, especially when the days are shorter, colder and more bath-encouraging.

►►► Sometimes I do forget to re-apply that flipping sunscreen and end up like a nicely cooked lobster.
How do you take care of your hair?
That's funny! My hair routine is pretty non-existent, I'm not really a great hair stylist so I usually follow its lead - wash when it's needed, condition when I remember to. However since cutting my bangs just a few weeks ago, more thought goes into the process of keeping them looking good. I use some heat-protecting products, flat iron to keep them straight yet a little rounded. I rarely wear my hair down, does it say something about my personality too?

Do you eat any foods that make you feel great?
I believe that certain food can make you feel great and as an occasional snack they shouldn't be avoided. Having said that I could drink vegan peanut butter banana smoothie as there's no tomorrow but I stick to times when my bananas get little too ripe and blend them excitedly for my snack.

What do you pack when you travel?
Pretty much the same products I have stacked in my bathroom. Why would I avoid something I desperately need on hourly basis?

Do you have a signature scent?
Yes and no. I like to change my scents, try some masculine fragrances (Damian's Hermes small dose does more than a full bottle of floral magnificence) yet if I like it I'll stick to it for a while and come back to it some time later on. In my early twenties my mum gifted me with an Avon's Passion Dance for my birthday and I loved it ever since (it's still on the market!). I was loyal to Be Delicious DKNY and Irresistible Givenchy for a while but now I just want to smell like as many beautiful things as I can!

Does Damian have a favourite look of yours?
Yes and he would force it on me if he could! He'd love me to wear my hair down a lot more and stop using too much hair spray as it can look too sleek for his liking. He's not a fan of lipsticks as they're not that kissable. For the overall look, dress showing curves and enhancing obvious roundness would please his eyes so occasionally he is for a treat.

Do you have an overall beauty philosophy?
There are things I will never skip using like SPF's, eye pencils, experiment with new colours and products but generally I don't freak out over aging process or minor skin imperfections. I may be concerned about too much sun exposure but that's about it.

ANY LOOK-ALIKE DOLL ENTHUSIASTS OUT THERE?, artistic souls, leisure time, aga plieth
furry hat, look alike dolls, ANY LOOK-ALIKE DOLL ENTHUSIASTS OUT THERE?

It is extremely easy to find pretty dolls for little girls these days - from Barbie to rag dolls, from plastic faces to rice fillings, they're here to love them and break them to figure out what makes them work. Nadia has a small selection of dolls because playing with them is not a big thing on her daily task list yet when we saw this website where a lovely lady creates look alike dolls, the excitement became unbearable. You can opt for the most magnificent accessories as the sewing lady will go over and above to fulfill every request. Despite having a reputation of avoiding playing with dolls, Nadia loved having her mini version for days of fun, something she will not want to change soon.

It takes around eight weeks to create a doll of a particular shape complete with wardrobe staples and a few accessories (we definitely splurged on those!). Every detail is completely thought out to make you gasp or swoon or both. And the finished dolls are pure genius as decoration giving Nadia's space a fun vibe, something only Minnie Mouse is able to cover.

SIMPLICITY IN LOVING - DAD'S VERSION, emotions, girl's world, dad a role model
SIMPLICITY IN LOVING - DAD'S VERSION, emotions, girl's world, dad a role model

When it was still too early to admit the sex of our baby, I had a clear vision of a dad I more than wanted Damian to be. And as it was going to be a girl, I more than squealed because I didn't need reassurance from what kind of dad he'd be moulding into. And which quality do I like, respect the most if there are that many? I put together a small list of things I'm happy to witness day by day, in hundreds of ways.
  • Loving Nadia unconditionally doesn't always match him having patience for everything she does or has all the time in the world for but being there whenever she needs him, responding to weird ideas this scheme called parenting ever witnessed is what I'm scooping up with both hands. Falling asleep cuddled together on the dark skin of our sofa, achieving maximum of quality time in late hours of a long working day has never had me wanting to catch a little of the flavour they diffuse. His attention is always aimed at her whether educational or fun activities shape up energy of the moment.
  • Her dad's appearance, kindness, perfectionism and a lot more to be excited about or to desperately avoid create that magical formula that will have an influence on Nadia's future partner. A lot will be going on in that field so I salute you, Damian!
  • How we talk to each other, how we live and what we need to be happy means more than ever before. By following his instincts to be the best husband he is, there's not much time to think if what Damian's doing would be successful or not, yet it proves to give unexpectedly satisfying results. Nadia is watching how he treats his wife and his attitude is everything, not to mention a lot of lightness and irony gets thrown in to raise some heartbeats in the process.
  • Teaching her what he does best only works when I'm not around as it can get too crazy at times. We're talking mastering skills of using Xbox controller, riding bikes down the hill on a full speed, shaking off excess water from freshly washed laundry (not that it's too crazy to monitor the experience). Moderation is not an option as there are those motor skills to get mastered and Nadia's dad has been the creative force behind her crazy moves.
  • Who knew making memories equals satisfying appetite for all things girlie?
  • Showing up to her events, or even better taking her there and cheering up each pirouette (ballet classes) has allowed me never underestimate the role of father in a girl's life. She made all kinds of crazy progress while feeling happy in her own pink tutu that her dad's contribution in every tap, skip and swish is all I can think of.
  • Doing her hair and nails will give you far better idea what a man has to be prepared for when having two women at home. If Nadia asks for her nails painted, most probably mine will be still in less touchable state so the pleasure of selecting tools and colours is passed onto the next adult in our household. Small nails are not too big a commitment and the layers can be easily changed back if mama's varnish has dried.

SUPPOSE.COM - A WEBSITE THAT CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE, sponsored post, todaymyway.com

Over a week ago I started browsing the internet to get some ideas for gifts that will be welcomed under the Christmas tree and well loved for the next month or so. And although this year our approach to season's traditions will shift towards concepts that haven't been tried before, there are still members of our family that will enjoy long-awaited ripping neatly wrapped paper off. I cannot possibly deprive them of this pleasure, especially that  there is some really great stuff dominating my space. But here comes the best part. A team from Suppose.com has contacted me and offered to send a Disney Cars 3 Wheel Tri Scooter for free to review and fall in love with. Yes, please! Not only this is the toy that resonates with my inner Santa a lot but the deal that Suppose.com found will make anyone's heart beating faster than it should (a whooping £12.50 instead of £30.00, man I wouldn't mind buying it myself!). Good deal is a magic word that is worth flirting with and I'm all in.

What is Suppose.com? It is a place that allows users to track price changes from online retailers. By creating lists, tracking the cost of items that can change daily or even by the minute to ensure that the best possible deal is found is the thing I thought you'd like to hear about. No wonder the site has become my new one-stop site for all things recently desired. And what more do I need than a smiley face of a little person enjoying the sound of a first swoosh of air between the wheels? I'm overjoyed this easy to assemble vehicle for a Cars-mad boy didn't last until the caroling season. My dear nephew hasn't stopped playing with it ever since.

fascinating neighbourhood, travel, todaymyway.com

Leave a girl in a room full of clothes she's allowed to try on and you know she's been ready for it since the early rising that day. And the huge bonus? Clothes that actually fit after generations, historic tribulations and too much pungent lye soap. Or they might be just replicas therefore you're totally entitled to ignore the introduction. It felt so festive trying on those bonnets and high-waisted Regency frocks and somehow they were only fabrics but easily managed to entwine us tight with the spirit ruled by elegance and etiquette. Let me throw an annual Jane Austen Festival into the mix and I never loved a place before. It turns out Bath could be our next best old streets. Until then, I'm back to the seaside.

We went to Bath, a beautiful town in neighbouring district and it was an intense day of walking, visiting museums, trying to check in on time while moving in ultra slow motion, eating sushi and chasing balloons. Me and my friend have been talking about exploring a new town at every occasion, coffee involved or not and we just could not wait any longer. And success. And it happened.

After a quick snack-lunch from Yen Sushi eaten on a wooden bench observing Nadia pretend-playing and making notes in her pink notebook while running the way heroes do we headed to Fashion Museum followed by Jane Austen Centre we entered at the last minute. While wandering down the streets we were spotting remains of ancient times literally everywhere. I knew they'd absolutely be well loved if we moved down here. But two and a half hour drive away from our dearest and well recognized? Hard thought to bear. It is a beautiful little place for sure, with talented singers popping up at bigger squares singing the way I'd never hear someone entertain others going by their own ways, getting on with their daily chores and stuff. The sound flew beyond the walls of stone, we were mesmerized.

There was also Bath Abbey and The Roman Baths on our guide printed earlier for our wild exploring ideas. I love old places that seen and experienced more just by standing still. It was pleasant and airy, and dark and scary at times so the bundle of energy of mine broke in tears on one occasion wanting to be back to daddy. So we sat on our own, talked a little, hugged a lot, decided on a chocolate ice cream and went off to look for my friend exploring the intensive way of reading and touching the place almost piece by piece. We're not so sure we could do that.

And since it was still so nice while getting dark, we decided to wander over to the bridge that was already closed for the roving public. It didn't stop us to take some pictures and promise to make it within social hours next time. Have a great day, friends! x
