ASSUMING THERE WILL BE MEMORIES WE WANT TO REMEMBER

It's cool to be a woman. Adventurous, focused on herself and others, independent. Believing in herself no matter what. It's cool to be a grown woman. Able to understand, give affection and attention or show the door when needed. It's also cool to be a woman in love with a man who is a total support whatever his woman sets her eyes on (thank you, Dee!).

It's cool to be a friend - let it be your spouse, relative, stranger. I tried steering away from mentioning some e-mail conversations I had with my close cousin-become-friend for the past weeks (my head is spinning from recent challenges!) but it did have had an impact on me even though I didn't want to live through them. I am the last one to hold grudges against anything (eight leg creatures excluded) or dwell on the past so big was my surprise how many accusations she displayed. I still can't take my head around this and although I strongly believe in talking about what you're not happy about it is obvious the only way to seemingly and temporarily for her to feel better is to put me down. I fear arguing but silence and ignorance after expressing readiness for 'making it work' makes this whole situation bittersweet. Sometimes friendship starts with a bang, sometimes it's how it ends. I'd like to stay on the brighter, hopeful side that we will laugh just like before (that just means a lot more catching up to do later ;).

Also my brother has flown back to Poland weeks ago and I had plenty of time to reflect over the events of last month. Starting anew can be a little intimidating but I am sure he will do just fine while secretly wishing he will be back to the UK just in a couple of weeks after I make some phone calls and tirelessly flip through endless newspaper adverts. Amidst all the emotions my brother brought to our walls I've always focused on the positive side of events encouraging productivity and fun. Some days were tense, other were plentiful in hope and excitement so we had more reasons to continue with knocking on office doors and simply took every day as it came. For the first tearful hour after he'd been gone I felt I disappointed him entirely, maybe not with the lack of effort but by arousing an unnecessary hope he came to revise. He's not one of those men that eat you alive but we were working on that part. It got better every day. As usual, some steps backwards but still more forward. Results will come, I’m sure.

As a result of this low mood lately I have been embracing our family quality time even more - remembering that Nadia is going to the nursery this September I will hold her for as long as I can or at least until her squished cheeks cannot tolerate it anymore. It's okay to feel blue sometimes and content the day after.

Hope you're having a great week! x

PARENTS' SURVIVAL GUIDE FOR TRAVELING WITHOUT KIDS
PARENTS' SURVIVAL GUIDE FOR TRAVELING WITHOUT KIDS

We haven't exhausted the world of firsts yet and as long as a word 'mama' appears next to my name there will be multiple things terrifying us for that very first time. First 24 hours away from our little polka dot lover announced here can be ticked off with a sign of relief - Nadia is not a big fan of being apart from us however given two cousins to play with tirelessly for long hours, waving goodbye wasn't as rough on her as we expected. It was us, her parents who weren't sure if our hearts could take it and looked forward to cuddle her more than she could stand after we've returned so I came up with a short parents' survival guide for everyone who will experience being away from your child at some point. Do not look forward to it, I tell you.

1. Make sure they stay with someone they're comfortable with. Entrusting somebody with the well-being of the one person in the world that you love more than yourself will make your trip more bearable. Teaming up with Damian's brother and his unpredictable in their playfulness sons was all thumbs up. For longer journeys or short plays in the park. Always (thank you, guys!!).

2. Get busy on your trip! Use up (wisely or not) every minute you have skillfully creating a crazy vibe around well thought out activities or simple hanging out. The more to see and do, the better. So we ran, changed directions, talked to people, ran some more buzzing with ideas what to do next. 'Where has the day gone?' took us closer to seeing our tiny face.

3. Look around for whether that’s a piece she'd like to have or something different but you don't know what. Having open mind for little gifts is a way to stay sane and in control for a while. Picking little pieces that doesn't have to cost the earth while picturing her excitement and looking some more made perfect sense.

4. Enjoy your time. How unnatural it sounds but it's true. Delicious latte at the airport, a little bickering with hubby that drizzling is actually a rain pour, a few snaps of the sky from a cabin seat at different camera angles took our minds away from increased heartbeats at the thought of how incomplete we were without her.

What are your survival tips for traveling without children? x

^^ Here are Firmoo's giveaway winners: Meena Selvakumaran, Lindsay, Colleen Campbell, Novarinna Tan, Jack Bialobrzeski, Sunaina. I will contact you with the E-voucher codes as soon as I get them. EVERY DAY TELLS A STORY
EVERY DAY TELLS A STORY

I like how life can excitedly change its direction the minute you want it to, the second you feel that's the right decision, this is the next step. I love when it suddenly changes from ordinary to extraordinary within one morning. It has started off very dramatically - if you cannot speed up your child's passport application process while you've already booked a flight for a family vacation (July, we thought we were not coming), well... you can only jump on a plane yourself and apply again in your home country. Funnily enough it is our last chance to have her travel document before we actually OFFICIALLY fly together later on. I'm not mentioning extra fees and headache inducing two-way travel over next 24 hours and of course one of us coming back in a month's time to collect the most talked about booklet, but hey! is there anything better to enliven our life than a last minute surprise? Seeing our dear parents, having a chance to stroll down the high street of our home town in atmosphere of familiar sounds and images? There.is.not.

Whilst a lot of this trip is a pure joy it is proving to be a tough one not taking our daughter on board with us. For the first time in our long lived lives our precious girl will be thousand miles away. I can already feel something caught in my eyelashes... Luckily - and amazingly – Damian’s brother and his wife (to their two boys delight) happily agreed to look after Nadia until we’re back to hug her like there’s no count-down clock timed to the minute (do they realize what they're up to?). She’s gone a bit children mad and can play tirelessly for ages forgetting who she came with so it will be natural for her to play, fall asleep on the couch then wake up in the morning and we’ll be back just in time for lunch. Plush toys, three wheeled vehicles due to tear and wear process, Barbies in your best accessories please keep Nadia company, assign time to her needs. In no time it’ll be utterly family based fun until no further notice.

I’m off spending time with my little flower from this moment until pj's time then off packing my small cabin bag (can you imagine us walking through the security check points with our two small cabin bags like business people? ;) Happy Friday, everyone! xx

PRE-SCHOOL BOUTIQUE
PRE-SCHOOL BOUTIQUE

Catalogues of kids summer/spring collections have marked my carpet through their fat bodies piled up next to walls sitting quietly in the shadow of my sofa. Whilst I would normally allocate hours for looking through their glossy pages I have been constantly challenged and insanely provoked by the moody weather never getting a chance to dress my girl the way this time of year encourages. Neither short sleeves nor bare toesies played in the sand yet, summer hats and strappy sandals never peaked out of their colourful shoe boxes. Get to look around for abandoned autumn brochures from last season and splurge on hoodies, tights and jumpers. But we're not those who complain (for longer than it is socially acceptable) and use what we've got for the weather we're subjected to. It can still shout happiness and fun in its thicker fabrics. So if bare skin is still off, we've covered it with deep colour, spring pattern and happy motifs. This way we can handle you, moody skies for a little longer.

Thanks for visiting the boutique and may the sun be with you!

TELL ME I'M SPENDING A MONTH ON A HOUSEBOAT
And I am out the door in a second. Or you could generously transfer me to the beach cabin I will pleasantly spend all summer eating fish and writing postcards to everyone I'm friends with. It's not only our personal space that reflects who we are but our travel (dream) destinations tell what we not necessarily want to share about ourselves the more verbal way. With every trip I feel I'm getting to know myself better (or so I hope), each time I learn something new about myself list of reasons for continuing renewing my passport grows. Let me show you 'three places on Earth I would like to visit before I die' (as a continuation of my 30 day blogging challenge).

TELL ME I'M SPENDING A MONTH ON A HOUSEBOAT
Taking a summer long road trip to every fish village on the Italian coast would make my heart skip crazily more than a lot. Bathing in the golden light of an early evening sat at a little coffee table after a silent hike through empty side roads before going to bed late talking pasta cooking class in the morning... Tell me it's not going to happen in my next life.

TELL ME I'M SPENDING A MONTH ON A HOUSEBOAT
Picking fresh flowers from a morning market before heading to a nice cafè for breakfast and feeling like hanging at home can't be achieved anywhere else. Hello New York and your glossy buildings, yellow cabs and changing lights. One day I shall make up my mind on choosing the city in its blinding sun or in the snow coating trees like icing sugar.

If England decides to have autumn-like summer I'm off to Tirol mountains to discover shocks of colour at the glistening lake in no time. The views will make sure all the stress melts off with the first cold lager and a smiling husband I will have dinner with at the expensive date spot. Because today I get to be somebody else. A stranger, observer tasting it for the very first time not worrying about days slipping away.

Where would you like to go this, next or any year? x
