PERFECT SLIDING INTO THE WEEKEND
PERFECT SLIDING INTO THE WEEKEND

Do you get excited, motivated, moved and whatever else after seeing something that you may consider turning in something else and have fun along the way? Not to mention that you want to start doing it right away? The message is clear – you’ll get out of it more by picturing yourself doing it than actually... getting on with it. But to the point. Granny friendly shelves of crochet yarn in ecstatic colours and I’m done shopping elsewhere. I'll just look seriously concerned if it could end up pleasantly in a scarf form or unidentified shape of something I’ve seen and hardly recreated. Or fabrics, pots of paint get me equally excited about my non-existent sewing and colour mixing abilities. One can always wander down the aisles.

To avoid more drama on a misbehaving coast I grabbed my favourite monthly publication that was enveloped in film. It contained a free copy of a music CD but the idea of originally wrapped magazine on a potentially suicidal day is more than rad. Was I lucky or seriously lucky that day?

We all know that long woolen winter socks look good on top but for once I could just make them work underneath my jeans. It's still cold commuting! The decision was easy and my jeans knew how to act in certain situations. Only that I might never do that again. I’ve never thought I’d perfect scratching, tugging and tearing in order to pull what’s dropped. Perplexed is understatement. Errands will never get done when there’s this thing on my mind or below my knees now that you mention it.

Sunglasses needed! If you spend a pound on outlandish pair to be worn just a couple of times all the balance is restored. Surprisingly they don’t get damaged as they used to between a year old fingers so inexpensive means days of completely guilt-free fun.

I’ve got this fairy light string wrapped around legs of my home office desk. They are cherry blossom lights that glow in red and make me happy just to look at them mindlessly daydreaming. And I’ve been noticing all these adorable round bulb droppings on the carpet like ripe plums ready to be turned into a fresh jam for the family. I’ve picked up six and counting. Attaching them back doesn’t work as they’re already broken, except actually without looking festive they end up in several places intentionally or not. Recently as toy mushrooms attached to a cardboard sheet with white dots painted by ourselves truly.

Have a great weekend! x

AM I SURE I'M RAISING A GIRL?

AM I SURE I'M RAISING A GIRL?

Rooms, reading nooks, sticker-ed shelves say a lot about four year olds and changing them or adding something with a twist can literally transform the feel of the whole space. Decorative boxes or simply leftover ones are a great source of new projects so scissors in hands, sellotape between teeth and we knelt for far too long but the results are quite pleasing. I tell you, active toddlers are the best company when no schedule is involved. When time is on your side for projects like these you kind of embrace each hole and paint each inch lovingly. She'll be going on adventures in it so I'm all safety orientated. Still not decorated the way it will present itself to the cushion storms and dive under the breakfast table but we're figuring out stuff, applaud most ideas and collect supplies. And kind of play alongside, in or outside the abandoned ship before it sails out of the room for the first time. We love pirates, stories of hidden treasures because there are so many out there. She still wants a sword and an eye patch. I'll better take a good look at her birth certificate. x

TOUGH JOB BEING INSPIRED, CONSISTENT AND HAVE FUN TOO
TOUGH JOB BEING INSPIRED, CONSISTENT AND HAVE FUN TOO

TOUGH JOB BEING INSPIRED, CONSISTENT AND HAVE FUN TOO

This is what I'm studying: second photo next to the cup smudged in cheap lipstick and leftovers of disturbingly delicious slice of lemon and polenta cake. I ate it for the first time and wouldn't recommend any other dose of sugar especially whilst making those brain cells earning their glucose supply. No, I'm not joining the world of neurology neither pediatrics and most probably not the chiropody department. You'd have a good laugh at me taking care of your bunions so I spare you the questionable fun. I'm studying human brain for my work diploma as well as taking notes for those 90,000 words needed to make sense in attempt to get accepted, revised and eventually published. So it's more of a killing two birds with one lemon cake. While my work assignment requires basic knowledge of different brain functions, novel that has been shaping up humbly under the moody sky focuses on more than material in the book covers. Heavy stuff balanced with soft inside of chewy polenta bits.

I found this quiet bookshop and café in one on recent stroll to significant sale departments (floods or not, a girl is lost without fashion opportunities on her budget), forgotten all about it then got giddy with excitement to actually pronounce it a more fascinating part of my work and simply wasn't able to locate it with or without my smart device. Sad afternoon it was and wedged footwear a bad option but persistence rewarded fresh blisters with a note on the entrance door that the bookshop would be closed today as if it was a normal decision in a world of hospitality and retail. I don't remember if I made loud comment or just waddled away, next time fully educated with closing and opening times I was the fourth customer to the service. Rows upon rows of shelves of pre-owned pages, vinyl records in boxes on freshly swept rug, trinkets from thrift stores at less than a fiver playing make believe with the layout of the furniture, wooden tables with four chairs each were my writing environment. I could spend full noons here, doused in coffee maker's occasional noise and lustrous reflection in vintage oversized mirrors peeking at the drafts from sides. I let my controversial story shape up distracted by strong drink and sweet flavour. I never really opened up about the plot, never really steered conversations through chapters that eat up most of my colouring, counting and spelling hours. So will not tell before it's made into print (even as every occasion's desperate gift to family, friends and everyone on my Facebook list) however setting the mood in advance can still happen. It is controversial, what do you expect from concise human body supportive material? Thrilling, tearjerker, anything can happen if reliable source meets my imagination. Her name is Gemma and will not settle for less than her body is capable of. She could've been in much advanced stage, in yummier shape but I love going back to what I've scribbled so far I'm afraid your pennies are safe for at least one planet cycle. Constant editing is not a good companion for successful ending. Americano can help, late opening times contribute. This is what I'm studying at every opportunity. Sometimes I open blogger draft in microscopic mode of my phone here to tell you about our daily musings in soft English accent, some days I just sip caffeine without care in the near neighbourhood. Can't tell how long until another chapter, bear with me and my lipstick application technique. Until next time, noisy americano maker.

JUST ENOUGH TO BE PERFECT

JUST ENOUGH TO BE PERFECT

JUST ENOUGH TO BE PERFECT

Hi. This is your enormous and intimate play pit. I hope you understand the possibilities it creates and region it covers. The remoteness is everywhere alike, it will steer you through nothing but ribbons of dog litter and goldmine of undeveloped plants. There are treasures to be found when you're done being crazily busy elsewhere.
Love. xo New park (otherwise known as Alum Chine).

I'm embarrassed to confess we needed a few fallen trees and a couple of floods to start rediscovering the area. And with a bad weather comes a lot of attention grabbers - free obstacle course with trunks of trees and rotten leaves. Also freshly stocked with muddy ground, bed of moss on every stony feature and all kinds of nooks you're guided to with steps. The balance of pre- and post-big storm days is perfection. Not exactly what we expected to see but then again I have no idea what we were expecting entering this abandoned park. Since it's more of a winter edition we'll be spending the last dreary days with odd assortment of shapes and stages of development. We will play, we'll learn, examine as well.

Can we talk about holiday plans for a moment? Because it's already time to start making big deal of bathing suits, beach cover ups and thong sandals as that oatmeal jacket of mine has expressed a wish to check if all the summer gear is alive and well in my closet and how can I not let it to? We are well and truly involved in organizing this year of significant flights and as far as my diary is concerned we're talking three countries just in the first half of a year. Added bonus: no overseas vaccine required.

FAIRYTALE HIDEAWAY - NADIA'S ROOM TOUR
FAIRYTALE HIDEAWAY - NADIA'S ROOM TOUR
^^ There are books in two languages and dolls available to play with in all kinds of circumstances. Recently it's been the meteorological kind. ^^

This space is the most uplifting and magical within any distance. Corners gradually filled with colour and texture as we were never in a hurry to finish it, it still calls for a little desk and a chair to acommodate so the recent updates are not final. But is a room ever finished? It's also pretty thrilling not knowing what we're gonna create. The abundance of pink, touch of green and Disney royalty was added through all kinds of collaborations: shopping sprees, birthdays, unplanned surprises. Lots of really great stuff I like keep adding to in respectable time manner. OK, let's proceed before someone removes me forcibly from the computer.

^^ It's all about telling stories these days and Nadia mastered her role-play voices in no time. She'll even tell you something interesting about colouring book. I believe her. ^^

^^ There aren't many hanging decorations happening in Nadia's bedroom as we need to keep holes to a painful minimum but these are the kinds of items we swear by until we get our hands on own plaster (favourite heroine and a calendar because that's the most popular options when you're restricted). ^^

YOU OUGHTA GO OUT

YOU OUGHTA GO OUT
YOU OUGHTA GO OUT
I'm not expert in leather department but those boots are definitely not made for walking in the mud, rain and whatever else that goes wrong on the pavement level. But we'll soon be replacing our shoes and cars with rain boots and boats to get around so when spotted one unusually sunny day in all that crazy weather arrangement, with overly optimistic attitudes we whizzed outside. So what that it was 4 pm and cold would be understatement? Cause you oughta go out, live a little dangerously even if it means only for an afternoon.

YOU OUGHTA GO OUT
YOU OUGHTA GO OUT
YOU OUGHTA GO OUT
Not convinced spring is on her way we used our time outdoors wisely and tried each playground feature respectively. I think the spinning seat might be our favourite as it does amazing things in person. Think of all the ways it could be used on a really nice day and more appropriate hour too. Then we got really excited to greet ducks and geese taking over our camera for a while. They love any kind of attention and Nadia was ready to give some.

YOU OUGHTA GO OUT
YOU OUGHTA GO OUT
YOU OUGHTA GO OUT
YOU OUGHTA GO OUT

I don't want to scare you guys but UK will be underwater any minute. Commuting gets dangerous and challenging, seaside is no longer our friend and whoever thinks of stepping out the door should at least have a valid will in place. The scenery is all about fallen trees, floods and chaos almost everywhere you choose to go and the sun still doesn't get it. If I tell you it's been happening since late November you'll never fill any visa applications for this side of the globe. Almost everyone I know has been affected by the recent craziness of nature whether having a tree fallen on their car or just an umbrella in unfixable state (anyone making notes what I need for like next birthday or so?). All the very busy people going about their own lives have to change plans, rearrange, get dry and so on. It's funny how I keep believing that it will clear up tomorrow or the day after. Nope, 100 mph wind and rain have their own plans meeting at the same time, same place...
Have a great day, dears! x
