perfect day, mum-daughter time, todaymyway.com, at the seaside
EVERYTHING WE LOOK FOR IN A PERFECT DAY, english weather, awesome day, todaymyway.com

She loves to keep things interesting. She does love to surprise me every time I look at her longer than just to smile and wink and it excites and frightens me alike. It’s kind of wonderful she’s entirely different person the minute my eye moves along traits that are no longer in play, yes I’m insanely into everything transforming so seriously. It struck me enormously how it was possible to grow so quickly under my watchful eye! That flexibility of nature, the perfect finishing touches to be found settling in under the waterproof parka, fleece linings, scarves of many colours, crowns and princess gowns. Even hair is growing in a way that keeps things in an inevitable perspective, still out of proportion to her changing body, getting past her ribs and beyond. I feel a lot of pressure to get to know her more, love her deeper, give more attention, get creative with every day we make memories. Because it’s transitory. I’m among those mums that await more, seek clues, spot a difference from a mile away, be that from a photo or a new grimace, particular move, new shade of golden in her hair. Each month my eyes are trained to the full and I feel grateful for this child becoming a big girl but yes, I will never recover from losing the squishy body and toothless gums.

You can rely on me Mother Nature, I’m witnessing a beautiful process of someone growing up - outgrowing fabrics, skilfully creating multiple verb sentences, forming friendships and still holding my hand on walks all over town. She prefers to do it more than when she was younger, more adventurous I suppose? Always a block ahead of me, turning back and laughing she made it quicker than I. I guess five year olds don’t run away, they just hold you tight and steer your steps – shall we go this way? take that front seat on the bus? sit right here so we can see everything? I notice however her paths shifting gradually, letting go of my hand and just be, pushing boundaries and wandering off. Mostly at bus stops when the waiting times vary rudely from what the timetable promises. We still go out a few times a month, hand in hand, one rain boot in the puddle but those days of careless escapades are so behind us. A school girl is a new role, new exciting adventure, a thing that takes up all the time and energy. I vaguely recall an outing in the past weeks, it was dreary, we had colds, chicken pox symptoms, we skipped most of the fun stuff. And then the weather surprised with a warm kiss on exposed foreheads and there was no stopping us from adventure we were so accustomed to. Sometimes going weeks without exploring the area brings more energy to be out and about than any other idea. We were realistic, only having enough time to play before the sun setting rapidly thanks to Daylight Saving Time. It was warm but we wore hats, ate chips while waving legs on a wooden bench. It felt like a tailor-made for us afternoon we'll try to relive anytime.

FUN THAT SHOULD NEVER BE MISSED
FUN AT FARMER PALMER'S

This girl. There's sweetness filling her up making me burst with pride and joy and all that a mama can think of when looking at her girl, holding her in arms, perfecting each grip. But the minute you show her what boys do, the female part we care deeply about is fading. Running around without her shirt on? Check. Playing Lego and Harry Potter on Xbox? Embarrassing check. Riding serious vehicles with a confidence meant for showing? You bet, check. It was a long bank holiday weekend around these parts, grass lusciously green and not much planning involved but we were up for whatever idea gathered up the people we know and like to get tired with... And outdoors obviously. All parties had more fun than on the average playground and I guess the sheep's contribution shouldn't be overlooked. Us, resident animals, we were all in this together ensuring no activity went unchecked, unnoticed, turned down intimidatingly. We've been fantasizing of coming back to this place ever since. x

ON LESS THAN FRIENDLY TERMS WITH THE MOON

at the beach
SPORTING NEW GEAR
Black & white shirt: Mango, cardigan: Atmosphere, jeans, boots: H&M
I think I find it a bit overwhelming. Not the rate at which the weather changes or new horizontal lines I tend to wake up to every year or even bank's interest rates that shift dramatically when the interest-free period is finally waved up for me to weep at. It all kind of transforms the vibe of a particular time as I'm sure I highly depend on the way the wind blows yet this is not what I'm planning to disclose. It's simply how quickly a thing can drag me up from a darkest place and put me straight in it without a thoughtful consideration. I haven't felt that emotional in a decade, thrilled and low, buzzing with excitement then intensively displaying complicated emotions. It makes me equally feel most alive and drenched to the bones. Today alone I felt it a couple of times with only a short transitional period between the range of emotional outcomes and finally sitting down to write has done me enough good to stay sane. I have to admit I've injected enough sugar and processed food into my diet to start experiencing its questionable magic. And if you ask me if my vegan adventure is far and forgotten, I'm telling you politely - I have a weak spot for all things organic but making it work my way has influenced such dramatic outcomes. After a month of a successful cleanse I know it is fabulous enough to make me wanna continue, day in, day out, home or on vacation, wherever my daring self will go. One step at a time, sometimes two, always in the right direction.

Or else it is the power of a full moon peering into all windows closely viewing my confused emotions. For no good reason and without a good explanation. Join in to help me figure it out.

To stay on a brighter side I'll concentrate on positive things and the weather which is getting more satisfying with every hour. June is just around the corner so not wasting any minute I'll leave to plan a lot of activities from getting to know our seaside more with every visit to learning how to drive. May, I am satisfied with you. xxx

MORE PIZZA, LESS EVERYTHING ELSE

The word of today is... tonsillitis. Where did it come from, how did it make it? Not a slightest idea but the experience is beyond measure. But in my opinion you'd rather read about pizza, definitely. Pizza is actually a rare occasion on our table, but then again who needs an explanation for having one? Made by your own floury fingers and designed to the last olive? Nadia was celebrating her friend's birthday by being invited to pizza making class. How fun. How people find out about those things? There are so many going on around I might start searching ideas for October already. But the pizza... As I wasn't present those yummy pictures make me kind of excited, possibly too excited seeing Nadia devouring a slice of her own creation. Four cherry tomatoes, four slices of ham, five strings of pepper and one slice of mushroom seems to be the lucky formula. It was good, said Damian finishing it. I can only dream.

As for my tonsillitis, it knocked me out for a whole week. Wasn't approached just right as my doctor thought I wouldn't need any antibiotic so left me only with a mouthwash. Holy ferret! But somehow or another it had to be treated, I have only one life and that life is meant to be lived so I was back for my dose of pills. I got them, yeah, why not, my tonsils were already inflamed. I'll spare you the drama and say my diet is slowly getting back to solids but not sour just yet (no apple, orange, anything that has flavour too). I really have realistic vision for my tongue to be able to appreciate my efforts and win the battle.
I hope you had more exciting week, friends! x

Nadia's choice of ingredients is possibly my favourite so far. Only more olives pops into my head.
MORE PIZZA, LESS EVERYTHING ELSE
She's a unicorn at the moment and sometimes Rapunzel, depends on the amount of the amazingness required. And dresses herself without a hint from me, walking into the living room with that triumphant smile on her face: Look mummy, I've just taken this top out from underneath them all. So worth it!

PERFECTION
PERFECTION

I've always valued the importance of sunshine and its direct impact on my life. When it takes the leading role nothing will feel more relaxed than kicking shoes off and let my toes taste the salt in the water. Those pictures make me feel really happy so excuse us for now, the beach is still high in demand. x

^^ These outfits didn't happen on accident, we take our patterns seriously ;) Also a dab of pink on little eyelids is sometimes necessary to the system. ^^

JUST ENOUGH TO BE PERFECT

JUST ENOUGH TO BE PERFECT

JUST ENOUGH TO BE PERFECT

Hi. This is your enormous and intimate play pit. I hope you understand the possibilities it creates and region it covers. The remoteness is everywhere alike, it will steer you through nothing but ribbons of dog litter and goldmine of undeveloped plants. There are treasures to be found when you're done being crazily busy elsewhere.
Love. xo New park (otherwise known as Alum Chine).

I'm embarrassed to confess we needed a few fallen trees and a couple of floods to start rediscovering the area. And with a bad weather comes a lot of attention grabbers - free obstacle course with trunks of trees and rotten leaves. Also freshly stocked with muddy ground, bed of moss on every stony feature and all kinds of nooks you're guided to with steps. The balance of pre- and post-big storm days is perfection. Not exactly what we expected to see but then again I have no idea what we were expecting entering this abandoned park. Since it's more of a winter edition we'll be spending the last dreary days with odd assortment of shapes and stages of development. We will play, we'll learn, examine as well.

Can we talk about holiday plans for a moment? Because it's already time to start making big deal of bathing suits, beach cover ups and thong sandals as that oatmeal jacket of mine has expressed a wish to check if all the summer gear is alive and well in my closet and how can I not let it to? We are well and truly involved in organizing this year of significant flights and as far as my diary is concerned we're talking three countries just in the first half of a year. Added bonus: no overseas vaccine required.

^^ Days of keeping in touch the more traditional way are here to stay. And this photo is just too sweet for words. (How do you like the way Nadia styled her outfit? A little daring I hear you say? Don't four year old girls expect such reaction?) ^^
