DAILY DOSE OF GREEN

DAILY DOSE OF GREEN

I wanted to post a little bit about the lovely old house we've been living for a while, it gets really beautiful especially in the spring months when daffodils just pop up behind our backs and cats disappear for longer. We benefit from a close walk to the sea and even closer skip towards cliffs and hidden mines, but that's what you already know. We reside in tight relationship with fuzzy animals and never enter an empty house as there's always a distant slam of somebody closing the door or singing to themselves or simply answering the phone while swaying to the sound of music on the radio, but this is what I've told you already. Have I also mentioned the cosy, friendly, intimate atmosphere everyone makes effortlessly with just their simple presence? I suppose I have. But I haven't told you that chaos in our inner world doesn't reign any more while we're making progress into adult living on our own - we haven't got our own bed or our spoons but we have time to think, good vibes to soak up, friends to talk to.

In a cubicle of our yellow-wallpapered double room days aren't even measured by the clocks ticking (there aren't any). Future plans are shaping up among shelves upon shelves of books, spirits are raised by countless interruptions from animal world and even a sprinkle of dust here and there manages to escape our pedantic eye. We don't need enormous heart attacks we were used to in the past, unless it is the landscape or kindness of fellow lodgers causing them. Without looking crazy we claim our tiny territory with an attitude that nearly jumps off out of each photo. Whether having supper overlooking wild stony garden or sitting on really comfortable for more than two people couch in the TV room - time spent here is never wasted but measured by factors unknown before. I wish everyone has found their authentic place on earth which we are soo very close to finding...

Happy Friday the 13th!!

I THINK I'M GONNA LOVE IT

I THINK I'M GONNA LOVE IT

Not much splash of colour this spring but there is a good reason for me wearing black (with a white accent) - I got a job at the hotel reception and looking smart has become my second name. Being around people again has made me feel light and cheery and I loved posing in my uniform after coming back from work. I will bore you again with saying that I'm happier and calmer when there is a (front) desk waiting for me or a clock-in card jumps up every morning or simply alarm clock is for the right purpose. Come and say hello while I'm not on the phone!

BRINGS ME JOY LIKE NOTHING ELSE

If you're available for evening driving on dusky streets during March, consider me hopping in your car for a few driving lessons. While not behind the steering wheel I'm relaxing my wrists on the computer mouse testing theory skills and believe me or not, I'm only short weeks away from my first independent (well, a bit jerky) ride.

WINTER BLUES OPTIONAL

I prefer things that are unusual, rare and giving goosebumps just thinking about them. On the contrary I hate unsettled issues and unknown future at work. I have been unemployed for a while only working a couple of hours each morning in a nearby pub and the uneasy feeling of not making the most of my time kills me. Winter in this part of England is pretty quiet in an employment department so I tend to spend the days lounging around the old house in an effort to speed the days up. I hope soon I can tell you more about job opportunities I'm into but meanwhile I'm so happy to be around such lovely people (and people they're having over on a regular basis), bunch of animals I can pet without embarrassment. No matter what I'm really excited for the upcoming spring and things it will bring on the scene.

BRIGHTEN UP A ROOM - HOLD A CAT!

BRIGHTEN UP A ROOM - HOLD A CAT!
BRIGHTEN UP A ROOM - HOLD A CAT!

I like the room that is quirky, intimate and unique showing personality of its owners. Beautiful view is not a must but unarguably helps to unwind easier. Creating our personal space on the foundations of items being already in someone else's possession can be daunting and lack individuality or create unnecessary chaos... it doesn't really matter as long as it complements the same aesthetics. Rough wooden floors were always my love affair so once we were back to familiar walls and floors, all we had to do was just soak up the atmosphere and balance it with simple pleasures like making dumplings or spying on a wild deer coming so close to the kitchen window it was almost impossible to see elsewhere. If they ever put this place on the market, my purse is saying 'hello'.

Not a snowflake in sight, neither a blowing hurricane escaped its den but Christmas is here and we are spending it together in peaceful atmosphere. I wish we laid more plates on the table and shared this joyous time with more than us but we're just equally excited to be on our own and soak up the festiveness alone. Happy holidays to everyone near and far. Wesołych Świąt!

DEVOTED TO ANIMAL KINGDOM

DEVOTED TO ANIMAL KINGDOM

DEVOTED TO ANIMAL KINGDOM
DEVOTED TO ANIMAL KINGDOM
DEVOTED TO ANIMAL KINGDOM

Recent weather has been nothing but inspiring to take our feet out the door and looking at the photos taken in the middle of December we've been blessed with almost spring sunlight, succulent grass, peacocks majestically exposing their feathers to match nature's blooming colours. We were also fooled by unbelievably bright rays of light as we walked around over 100 acres of garden, open parkland and woodland of Upton Country Park in Poole. I love English weather and doubt we'll ever get a snowstorm.

In alignment with changing season some changes are threading their way towards us - in the New Year we will be moving out of the way too big flat of ours to a smaller accommodation. To make things little cozier, we'll sneaking back to the bunch of cats we loved so much and our friends who will stumble upon us every morning on their way to the kitchen. I loved living on our own but can't wait to be back to almost holiday feeling of opening our bedroom door and greeting our next door neighbours on the corridor still wearing dressing gowns or hurrying to work.
