Simplicity at its best - feeding the ducks and a swan, swinging in the
air, sliding down the smooth surface. Exercising those stiff limbs.
And heading home having popcorn on the sofa watching Alfred Hitchcock Presents. This weekend was fabulous, I love having them off work which happens now and then.
I wanted to take my husband out for sooo long that finally - just the
two of us sneaked out this Friday evening and had a fabulous time at the
cinema and hankering for something to eat afterwards, we found a little
sushi bar called Sushi & Roll
accidentally while walking to the car. I had a bit of Japanese in
London earlier this year and was yearning for some more since then. I
have no idea if the cute little bar just opened up or has been at the
end of our nose for ages (I hope not!) but I am smitten with the kind
service, beauty of food made in front of us at very affordable prices.
Now I know what my diet will be like...
The night was perfect - holding hands like teenagers, taking pictures outside the cinema and inside the cute sushi bar and freaking out at every bleep coming from my phone to find out there was nothing to worry about - our daughter was in safe hands. Big thanks to my friend for looking after her while we were pretending to be dating again!

If you've seen lots of fuchsia colour recently, it might not necessarily
be roses, orchids or gerbera flowers. There has been a lot of petite
pink hood walking alongside the seaside carrying her blush pet-handbag.
There's no stopping her from counting the daisies on the grass, jumping
from stony walls, throwing ball far too close to the sea. And when snarled by the cool evening air resting on the casual bench -
now we knew taking pet handbag was a well thought out move because of
hiding most precious girl's accessories including protective lip balm.
Once beauty routine was completed and perpetuated digitally, we ran down
the hill (we never walk since Nadia discovered running) where our car
was parked.
I love this almost unreal happiness of us being silly and sweet and
little annoyed by the weather. Going places and coming back right before
it's too late to cuddle on the sofa. Stay tuned if you're in love with
life's simple pleasures...
These are not screen caps from one of Alfred Hitchcock's movies building
up the tension however Nadia could be a new master of suspense. I was
lucky enough to admire her changing face from the distance while she was
watching cartoon on TV. From a bored looking to a surprised and a
little thrilled face, she finally found her happy ending and gave it a
big smile.
Accessories in place, hand on the hip, leg out and she is ready to shine
in the flash of my camera. Nadia's fashion sense is still arranged by
me on her behalf but she is gradually making moves into the higher
shelves of her wardrobe. And she's chosen those Hello Kitty sunglasses over my strawberry ones. And I love her in them!
A little voyager with a map of the town and all the entertainment
awaiting for her. This mix of Nadia's surprised and excited face
accompanied us throughout the day at the most colourful park in the
world. She wanted to see everything and experience more than her height
allowed her to.
And so we drove all the way to the heart of French capital and the home
of Mickey Mouse and company - Disneyland. We can officially tick this park off from
our growing list of places left to see in this lifetime. It was truly a
fantastic day spent with people I love the most touring around handmade
streets, taking snaps of a gigantic Minnie Mouse balloon brought with us
home and sharing all the excitement accordingly. Thank you sunshine for
blinding us until well after afternoon and giving our photos this glow
we could normally only get on Photoshop.
The next couple of hours were spent walking and a huge artificial tree
climbing which has taken us back to the childhood memories of imitating
jungle animals and playing at head level. The tree had the whole
household spread all over it including ready-made bed and a dining area.
We went everywhere, did it all, ate apple dipped in a devil red icing
sugar. Not a yawn spotted, not a sore foot noted. We could not have
picked a more perfect place to spend almost a first day of spring
together. Next stop? Asterix Park nearer Paris... I bet still this year.
I knew it would have happened one day - Nadia's colouring passion
expressed on lacking vividness piece of furniture which frankly needed
some variety. It all started the day before with a bit of girlie nail
painting bringing instant happiness to Nadia's world as seeing her
fingernails adorned in little flowers and hearts has made her day. The
little artist was born! And once mummy lets her doll into her grown-up
and very distinguished world - they have more in common they have ever
had before.
