ROLLING STONE THAT ROLLS BOTH WAYS

by - Tuesday, March 19, 2013

rolling stone that rolls
this is the rolling stone

how do you prefer your stone rolling
that rolling stone is ours
i can see all eyes on rolling stone
here is my rolling stone

part of me likes rolling stones
perfect rolling stones
rolling like a stone
perfect day for rolling stone
may you roll like a rolling stone
give me that rolling stone
in awe of rolling stones

today could be ready for a rolling stone
my rolling stone
when can I meet a rolling stone
No wonder I am a rolling stone when the view outside my window doesn’t overwhelm any longer and streets are less desirable for evening walks. Couple of times a year my inner rolling detector activates and images on the other side of a pupil eye surprise even less. And then we have settled at the seaside, made friends here, increased our family and stuff that makes us happy has been found in the sand, inside tall buildings, in the countryside, through miles of trails and stores attracting corners of our eyes. The way it flows from one object to another predicts how long our history will be written among those hills and beach huts and living this way creates that awesome unpredictable effect on us - nothing will be attractive without a real escapade, a noise made by my shoes on unknown bricked pavements every time we feel some kind of a hidden inarticulated urge to search for a new view as for sweet water. You bet hundreds of leaflets and street maps are looked through in these parts on regular basis and our legs are always ready for some walking.

These days we’re more for a shorter weekend breaks due to our working/parenting schedules however I refuse to call myself a weekend tourist and given opportunity I’ll spend weeks living like locals being pleasantly surprised to find their lives could be easily adapted as mine. Our stay in Germany was just that – relaxed and off-key joys of eating potato salad and getting sun burns. I am definitely not done yet and waiting for my rolling detector to take off!  All that hopefully is about to hit off with our upcoming trip up north in June hoping for a bearable weather and tons of walking traits giving Nadia an opportunity to seek thrills and adventures. I’d love her to feel comfortable wherever she finds herself settling for a short period or a long homely stay. I’m definitely for maximizing horizons, especially those opened for an eye view. I guess whichever option of leading our lives we choose (rolling often or not) the greatest fun comes when you start planning it, visualizing, moving index finger through the internal boundaries picking places along the way (check out our previous trips: the moody vibe of seaside here, shades of chill here, nature's great intentions here and many more throughout the archives). Are they multicultural enough to accommodate our needs, crowded enough to still find our personal space yet stunningly built enough to keep us in awe?  You can guess what we will be getting up to this spring!

Perusing books and tourist guides written by avid travelers are really helpful together with tons of leaflets resting their backs on the counters of countless hotels, restaurants, eateries. All you need to do is pick them up and save the date in your calendar. Leaflets have been our first choice of exploring the area – from children friendly theme parks to river banks full of ducks and swans (Abbotsbury Swannery will announce its baby swans hatching in June, save the date devices essential). As for the books - ‘Where to go and when: Great Britain and Ireland’ not only gives me ideas which place promises great excitement but is full of clues when it is the best time to start the engine. Spring chapter has already been smudged by my fingertips

Seaside surroundings are those I barely associate my childhood with, I tend to follow my heart and stop by the trees, haunt rivers and grassy fields wherever I go. Now more times then ever we cannot resist time spent at the beach and the whole dressing for spring idea this Sunday (in my case) didn’t quite work out as I was freezing my gears off but we had to memorize those few hours of daylight at the pier after celebrating Ireland’s patron’s day. The story behind Sunday’s afternoon is short and unpredictable: it rained all day giving me cheap thrills at every break in the tear in the sky. Then it rained some more. And it stopped for the rest of the day like saying: go out and enjoy the cold. Which we did as casual walk on the beach never fails as our evening favourite.

    1. Thank you. I know I don't look like an ordinary beach babe but we celebrated Patrick's Day and decided to go home along the shore. Take a look in the archive section where I posted some more about living at the seaside. xx
