║today my way║

swanage, taking full advantage, windy season, chococo

This video was made for a number of reasons and visiting the chocolate shop was or wasn't the most important of them (I still haven't decided). This is where all my sweet dreams come true. There is plenty of magic about this town, the lack of good weather didn't need to constrain our creativity so here it is, a lot of fun in less then three minutes. Enjoy each French verse too. xx

animal world
zoo, eventful day
animal world, elephant in the zoo
family fun, poland

Another day, another episode of what's reported to be the best time ever. We said our goodbyes to my dad and rushed into the arms of a big town cause you know, girls need not to be overwhelmed all at once. It was unbelievably hot as we walked through the gate of a neighbouring zoo to see most of the animals hiding in the shade and soon we had to start thinking like them enjoying mini breaks on benches scattered around on much too big area. Pure indulgence. Nadia was super excited to start with but didn't stay too long in one place, expected rather a lot from slow in their motion giraffes and other interesting creatures so it was noticeable enough we would move on with our life pretty soon finding things worth doing elsewhere. The highlight of the adventure was my dear friend we brought along to share sugar doughnuts and all the fun with to finally wrap the day up in her kitchen over delicious feta salad with garlic baguette, a feast that involves taking advantage of the first days of summer.

►►► Nadia spent a good portion of time calling the big neck of a giraffe to acknowledge her plush toy which required little to no effort as the friendly animal had no intention to look away from this little girl paired with her speckled replica.

OUR STREETS ARE MADE FOR WALKING
OUR STREETS ARE MADE FOR WALKING

OUR STREETS ARE MADE FOR WALKING

OUR STREETS ARE MADE FOR WALKING

When coming home from kindergarten we often find ourselves traipsing around town without cause. There's something refreshing in hours of walking just for the joy of it. It's not really hours as it gets pretty dark here just after five due to the time change (although I loved having that extra hour back) but if we manage to get home this or other way, four thumbs up. Late one random afternoon Nadia was given a flu vaccine and we walked a little afterwards looking for seasonal treasures brought home without asking. What a pleasure to stroll hand in hand with this funny creature escaping my eyes to be found peeking out the tree laughing hysterically a minute later.

Last week we had fun seeing Nadia's best friend Erin outside kindergarten. They've been so close since beginning of the rain season, we mums thought it would be a great idea to let the girls enjoy their company in discovering new things haphazardly. That morning we took a double-decker bus and sat upstairs because Nadia likes to see things from the top, especially those pigeons sat on the roofs of the bus stops. I tell you, we know what we're doing. Once we got to the Serendipity Sam's, a soft play area with slides and monkey trails Nadia got upset and wanted to leave. Once so thrilled to see her friend and play together she held me tight directing to areas of great fun. So we enjoyed it together, me and my sweaty 50% woolen sweater hitting every slide and climbing every overly wide step. No mummy chatting, no airing the fabric, thank you very much. Just little before we left they started making the most of the space while me and Hannah (Erin's mum) were more than happy to test the coziness of the sofa. It was ideal for like fifteen minutes before we left to eat. Then she dropped us off home and we dozed off on the couch until Damian came from work bringing the lightning and thunders with him. It rained and blared so ferociously I joked I should've used my credit card in full before we'll get flooded and blown away in shatters. I sent Hannah late text message letting her know how much we enjoyed today. I just thought she'd like to know. She wrote back remarkably quickly and it kinda made our day. Already perfect kind of day.

P.S. Nadia really likes listening to Madonna. Pretty great to be a part of the world craze.

From our pumpkin to yours, happy spooky Halloween my friends! xx

You'd think you have to convince me to travel three hours in an unbelievably cold day, walk for about similar amount of time and come back home just before it gets too dark to dine out but actually a week in Poland has prepared me for anything unusual happening to our outdoor thermometer. I have posted a black and white comic of our recent trip to London based park as entry in a 'Britain's Best Days Out' competition, today have a look at the same odyssey in colour. I can hardly choose between those two, they're both unique in their own way and this time you won't damage your sight by contemplating little captions to the photos attached. As we take Nadia almost everywhere with us these days, she's pretty much adjusted to the restaurant etiquette by now and became a valuable meal company. After a busy but thrilling day in London, we ate at Ciao little bar/restaurant trying riskily new tastes (I loved grilled bruschetta with tomato and mozzarella cheese pictured above). What a great way to perk up our week!

Time to take a look at the recent party Nadia was the reason for. It was built around light food (full shelf of jellies like I was stocking up the whole supermarket and fruit kebabs), quiet games (puzzle arranging to start with and galloping around the flat to finish off) and bonding with distant family. It is never easy for me to choose the right food everyone will enjoy but the soft cheese and salmon bagels are a definite must. Help yourselves and tell me if you agree with my picks.

Nadia is excited whenever there are people around, much more if they are children so one minute she was wrestling with the wrapping paper to go running the next leaving it half-torn. Gifts were more on a practical side this year popping up in a form of clothes (green polka dot dress the happy girl is wearing) and developmental accessories (puzzles and books). If you can spot Nadia's new vehicle she innocently pointed at in store, you can imagine what a race course this flat has become. And a new favourite parking spot is temporarily in the kitchen, just right in front of the washing machine. I wish it was left in some more peaceful surroundings but this way I have my muffin close by even more often. The evening came unnoticed while we were chatting, laughing and watching Nadia's dress swish on a carpeted dance floor. The most enjoyable three years of my life have been summed up in a combination of tiny lips covered in chocolate, stains on my leggins from yummy sticky fingers and crumbs all over the apartment. It's unbelievable how time never rests in the eyes of a mother who gravitates towards getting to know her little girl more everyday. And I will keep on gravitating because I can't do anything else to get to love her more and know her better.

This bloggy lacks updates as my father-in-law his hair. We've been pretty busy, lazy, sun-blind, rain-soaked, you name it and I'll check if we've been there. Our poor souls came to life on a day on the beach soaking up the UVA and UVB's rays. In my case they stopped just above the neckline and below the sleeve line, my friend allowed them to take her with both hands. I expressed my deep wish of happily replacing the sandy heat for a page turning while occupying cooling shade of a wild garden, she didn't mind resuming roasting alive. Some people are worth my crows feet so we stayed, ate chicken sandwich, sat by the fountain discussing upcoming birthday party.

P.S. When sun eventually makes its way onto the scene I'm happy for all the escapades we'll be making, fruit we'll invite to the table but after just a brief sit in the dazzling sun I get killer migraine, lose vision around the fifth minute and burn like mandolin in flames. I may exaggerate a bit but here I am, smooth, pale and all fine.

Last Friday we shopped bottoms of our purses off - started with little gifts for the family and went all the way ignoring anatomy of a man having two hands only to carry that stuff home. Banned from online shopping? Fine, I get to lay my hands on a cash machine. And believe me or not - I have performed that shopping spree twice within one week so I have enough shoes, roll-ons, nail polish until Doom's Day. And onto the party! Best food, best company to ever wish for. Happy birthday to one awesome girl turning 30 - count me in for every bash you're going to throw. I'll come invited or not. And yesterday you talked about our personal style and expressed your view we both dress in rather age adequate manner, but I have to make a confession: I'm still on a mission to wear shorts and wedges, button down a bit and enhance behind with a tighter number. Are you still going to go into town with me dressed like this?

Be sure and check back what we are up to milliseconds before flying to the mainland! And have a blast of a weekend!
