SNEAK OUT AND CHALLENGE THE SKIES
SNEAK OUT AND CHALLENGE THE SKIES

This week's theme is nature! (I always wanted to say this). We sneaked out in this unfriendly to my new hair weather (those photos are a little overdue) that didn't exactly leave the trees outside in a state of art but as long as the sun was out we let our windswept locks have some fun. So we looked a close town for inspiration and enjoyed a true swan oasis to bits. The swans are so confident we almost regretted it got so personal - they nudged our hands, almost curled up at our feet. Staying at their height level can get our of hand if you're four and friendly so after they got what we had nobody saw us there since. The whole festive week we technically stayed indoors watching movies ('Great Expectations' always set the mood and Bridget Jones never fails to take us on a silly journey of sorts but that just works fabulously when you're not ready for more than a hot chocolate and a jolt of unexpected) and family videos, doing things I don't write on To-do-lists, having everything impractically piled up on beds and chairs. It was a relaxed and much needed state of mind for everybody.

I'm afraid I could get addicted to getting spoiled, talked about and sang to. If it makes pulse quickening at least once a year I'm all for it. I didn't plan too much for my birthday (I kind of did but it was nicer to stay indoors cheering Captain Phillips) apart from a night out with close people and a little bowling session the next day which actually didn't happen but the clubbing part was awesome (especially that Damian obliged to embrace my taste in music and company). We went for it without jackets and after having a few drinks secretly awaiting that moment of putting key in the door and filling ourselves with that warm welcoming feeling. Yeah, we're not really that partying type of gals.

^^ My mum trying to invade the old church from the most visible entrance. Who knows where it leads but that I reckon is the exciting part! ^^

INSERT SMILEY FACE - WE'RE ON THE ROAD AGAIN!
INSERT SMILEY FACE - WE'RE ON THE ROAD AGAIN!
INSERT SMILEY FACE - WE'RE ON THE ROAD AGAIN!
We seem to love short getaways, a day is enough to stroll down the street, grab an ice cream, look around the corner and jump in a car for a ride back home. One day of spontaneousness speaks to us louder than a day of preparation and usually it's never defined on our personalized calendar. Not every choice of trip decided on the spur of the moment is completely washed out of some errands that have to be ran but we always focus on the fun factor throughout. It's the deal. Sealed with a huge dose of positive expectations and right coordination. With Damian in tow we're more on a neatier, organized side.

Before there was still hope to get Nadia's passport ready before family holiday (those cases take light years to complete especially when you're torn between two countries and no one really knows which one is closer to your heart, let alone residency status in this case) - traipsing at a snail speed on London's busy sidewalks cheered every cell of that tiny body emerging from underneath stores' canopies into the sunshine. Brisk walking, avoiding short showers with a friendly grin was marking our afternoon. As typing this I came to realize how annoying my requests to stop here or capture this might have been. Getting impressed by a window decoration, unusual change of scenery as I rebel around? Everything seems so real to me these days, so within reach if you're willing to touch. The hues, textures are so permittive and I'm grateful for the luxury of noticing and embracing them.

As we drove home I hugged that sleepy head of mine in the car seat next to me (I haven't sat in the front passenger seat since the day she was born and I'm happy never to do that again) knowing how lucky mama I am - her presence is magical, her monologues are wonderfully vibrant so much so that I needn't do anything but melt.

^^ Fast-paced but productive shopping. Unlike me, she knows exactly what she'd like. I predict a wonderful shopping buddy in near future. ^^

A whale suitcase is watching me writing last post before taking off to the continent, a sweet snoring tune under the blinking window lights of my bathed girl is accompanying quiet run of my fresh manicured fingers while choosing the words. I have a couple of posts queuing together with more photos than it is humanly possible to decide which will find their home here and on top of that we're flying to Poland later this evening so there is necessity for some more delays but I'll be back quickly enough to bring snow-sprinkled snapshots. I want to enjoy it to the last cell though we have nothing really planned except for experiencing the white down and photographing mini daily adventures in minus temperatures. See you next year, my dears!!! (I'll be back in a week's time to be precise.)

And happy birthday to my brother who turns 30 today and whom I'm just a short flight away.
