PLACE THAT MAKES ME WANT TO EXPLORE IT UNTIL MY BODY IS WAY BEHIND ME
A PLACE THAT MAKES ME WANT TO EXPLORE IT
Abandoned carrousel on an empty pier... it doesn't happen often these days. But it made it so much easier for us to peek through each corner and snap more photos than we usually on a quest for. Our emerging from the see town has not one but two piers I tend to show you in small doses respectively, the one closer to the town center we're in the process of getting to love and we're oh so near. It may sound crazy but I'd love to serve the yummiest summer food on the wooden deck with our feet dangling meters above the shiny surface. It could be a fancy picnic-styled afternoon tea or just a couple of blood oranges drizzled in honey eaten on a quick stroll down the beach. I tell you, watch this tasty space and I'll watch for the right weather. Nadia was one happy monkey stopping for a glance at this and that, pulling our hands to show us what was calling to her like you can't be sure if the discovery was meant to be taken lightly.

The stroll also marked Damian's birthday we celebrated with delicious ice cream that had that fruit flavour to make us fall in love with. Having it together on a warm springtime afternoon might just be the best present he gets all year (not to mention a serious bottle of his new favorite scent I don't hesitate to 'borrow' hoping there'll never be version for girls because well, I'm simply so into each vapour).

A PLACE FULL OF WONDER
THIS VIEW IS NOT FOR FAINT HEARTED
ABANDONED MEANS OURS
UNTIL MY BODY IS WAY BEHIND ME I'M HERE

The paths led us through equally deserted park full of creatures eager to pose for the camera in exchange for a crumb or a fry. We had neither and I'm still recovering from guilt just by looking at the photo of a squirrel patiently awaiting her share. Next time we run to the overwhelming peacefulness of this park, we'll sure bring a treat with us providing she still craves some.

IT'S HERE WE HAVE FUN
HELLO SWEET CREATURE
Have a wonderful weekend, friends! We girls are flying to Poland on Monday for a quick and sweet catch-up with the family. Just a thought of upcoming events makes me disturbingly giddy. I sure prepared some fun posts so check them out while I'm away! xx

WHEELS FESTIVAL IN BOURNEMOUTH

Occupied would be understatement, busy falls under an exaggeration so let's settle for three days full of activity of all sorts. I mentioned in the last post about Wheels Festival we had opportunity to witness over the weekend advertised as Britain's biggest wheels themed family events across the town and seafront. We contentedly watched motorcycle stunts from afar and had beautiful and historic classic cars racing so close that their bygone charm made up for any noise they made. We're so lucky to be living in a place that surprises us every day with well-known and totally and utterly new things happening within its boarders. We walked all afternoon until the sunset then headed back home passing by our shoreline bestudded in carrousels, candy floss stalls and bouncy castle abandoned for the night. So as long as there are things to do and admire, we're all so so in.

Those stunts, guys. A taste of what people are doing in their free time while others are thrill-seeking elsewhere. They're meant to be admired and we did just so.

Did I mention the race course? On the streets of our town prepared for swishing and whooshing way before the event took place. We learned where it was okay to cross the road and where we needed more than a guide to blend in and stay safe. Forget Monaco, change a lifestyle and stay with us for the weekend. I only wished this was your thing. xx

There aren't plenty of T-shirt days in a year over here. Neither there are many exposed toe opportunities. Never mind, I can still exhaust the life out of suede and tighter stitching. In May it's kind of the norm. But as an occasional treat to all mourning the end of season but not its weather, there came testosterone-filled Wheels Festival lasting over three days giving us plenty to see and talk about. Our tourist-attracting town got even more tourist-y with the shoreline bestudded in carrousels, candy floss stalls and bouncing castles. I'm not telling any more - come back to see it for yourself. xx

kind of typical
typical summer
boys and the girl
We're just sweet people who enjoy the simple things in life, and there's only one place to reflect this ;) Yes, the water is still too cold to frolic jauntily in its arms and yes, we were one of the few strangers hoping for a quick and painless tan but Nadia and the boys couldn't wait for the chance to bring their toys out to play without having to worry about scrapped knees and stained cotton. So we went. And kept the summer frame of mind. But everyone else did too.

Next day belonged to lounging. A project so worth every inch of a pale skin. Boys took their tops off and that little princess Nadia obsessed with hot nail varnish and drawing Bambi lashes on the faces of her ragdolls was more than into it herself. It's great to see her deriving from both worlds - being girly doesn't mean you cannot feel the breeze right on your skin. Enjoy the weekend, friends! xx

This challenge is a funny thing. And by funny I mean responding to questions that were analyzed many times before, like a lot of winters ago - now ready and well thought out to get released from a Blogger draft into wider audience in record time. Except never pausing daily life and my mind buzzing with thoughts of unknown quantity have doubled up the layers resting casually on the backs of subjects I create my life with. Some answers are not applicable anymore and a lot of them needed good re-thinking sessions to be close enough to speak out loud today unlike any other times. So... things I believe in strongly as of this lifetime. Limited to first five.
  • I believe in potential and natural talents and if staying consistent, hard-working and a little self-willed - anyone can achieve the impossible. I believe humans can do what they want and how they want it, it's up to them if it's happening. We are that lucky.
  • I truly believe people can change their lives once they change their mindsets. Thoughts carve our reality, everything we perceive around has been created by our minds through attitudes and what we are focused on. Understanding how the Secret works just makes me feel a little more in charge of any days to come, no matter what.
  • I believe in astrology or should I say - certain conclusions made from daily horoscopes and planet and stars alignment apply to some of my dispositions and obviously Chinese calendar is the most suitable to take advice from if we want to become friends. It can tell more about what sort of girl I am than whoever is in progress of getting to know me.
  • I may call it karma or plainly 'what goes around comes around' or less dramatically 'what you desire today will be given to you this way or another', most probably to prove you wrong. Highlands always felt a little bit closer to my inner landscape so I dismissed any thought of enjoying the sea. Not soon after life has shown me how wrong I was by making me fall in love with it to its furthest shore.
  • Freud's theory about personality follows me around like an abandoned puppy: the existence of consciousness and subconsciousness forming an individual's actions, our childhood having major impact on who we become as adults comes complete with all psychic energy being generated by libido. I believe it's true. And then don't think too much about it.

WE ARE, AS IT APPEARS IN LOVE WITH WHAT'S COMING OUR WAY

Even though we ambled along together for nearly five years as of this fall, and that all Nadia's features I'd recognize sideways and upwards awakening quickly under my loving gaze, I can't decide whether this growing phrase should continue or else should stop as soon as possible. I'm not talking subtle changes here and there, it's happening on a greater scale than I can proceed with. Those things aren't new to me as they've transitioned from long-awaited expressions maturing as the time went by: conversations begin with well thought out sentences although I still see Nadia struggling having more thoughts on her mind than her vocabulary allows to produce, her eyes are serious and her requests deeper. Soon enough she'll claim every memory of it.

I had a visitor, worn out by climbing two flights of stairs one springtime afternoon. She sat at the dining table asking for milky tea. Then she greeted Nadia with a jolly hello and asked for her name but Nadia remained silent so she turned to me asking if my daughter was a little shy. Guided by her question I kept studying Nadia's face but she didn't look shy at all even if this word springs to my mind every so often. Something became clear to me as I saw curious eyes you're far from calling shy, she stood there, a little unsure but eager to play with her toys nonetheless watching my diploma assessor doing her job. Children of that age hold on to every excuse not to answer if they don't feel like and although it is nice to be polite, I instinctively let Nadia decide about the approach she was comfortable with. It wasn't always like this, I explained her silence a couple of times before or asked her to respond to the question unaware of a lot of things that I am preparing her for that way. She's not shy, in the first minutes of finding herself in a new situation, she diplomatically studies every possible maneuver to get along with others therefore she may be seen as indecisive and shy but her love for excitement and the unusual eventually steps out repeated if necessary to everyone involved. I'm wide awake for all that is shaping up in this little girl by building my days around more of it coming our way. xx

LIFE IS EITHER A DARING ADVENTURE OF NOTHING

THE CHANTRY OUTSIDE
Top: Markus Lupfer for Asos, cardigan: Atmosphere, pencil skirt: River Island, Boots: H&M

It seems like I've run out of dreams. However awkward that may sound, I've noticed a shortage of big plans that eventually turn into reality. So I needed to borrow a dream, an easily approachable and doable project I could rave about in details or sound crazy for generations. Well I'm half-joking, a little sleep deprived to be totally responsible for my ramblings yet the exact proportions of owning a dream and participating in one is absolutely happening. A good idea is undeniably on my list of hot topics and whatever else that gets my heart racing. You mention adventure, my facial expressions will navigate the conversation, you say travel and we're friends for life (it's just a slight warning ;). As a girl who has never ventured outside the UE, a two-week trip to India takes time to make sense and it is the reason why the application form has sat on my desktop for a week encouraging more questions conceived from the ones answered promptly by the organizing body with the time difference delay. My mind is already taking lessons in pottery and gasping at the riot of colour of Holi Festival marking the journey. It is a part of the plan for girls wanting more than just being tourists, they wait to smell, see and feel everything morbidly. Is it embarrassingly late to take on such adventure? Will it mark a beginning of new friendships, more journeys ahead and above all a signature experience enveloping my current motto? It's been a while since I planned a big adventure, I'm still convinced a road trip to Portugal will happen sooner than soon, but India? Far, unknown land of people I meet on regular basis at work, get offers of the best insurance deals over the phone from them and see their children playing happily in my neighbourhood. The itinerary and meeting a person I think I know but I'm sure I like plays a huge role in me considering taking part. It will also motivate me to a disturbing degree to complete many other projects within time leading to departure. I crave motivation, whatever it takes to push me out of my comfort zone will never get over-analyzed. I'll proceed while I'm totally, unnaturally hypnotized by the whole idea.

perfect sliding into the weekend

Do you often experience that super luxurious feeling of not having to write things down or type them on your smartphone because you’re so sure it’ll be remembered next day? So does my husband. I’ve spent an extraordinary amount of time trying to work out why there is so much pleasure in avoiding tangible reminders and electronic to-do lists especially if the effort of pushing a few buttons or scribbling down a couple of words is next to nothing instead of finding it supremely embarrassing whilst locating important things among grey cells. Jotting down or just saving it on the phone would change the whole dynamic of our morning conversation. Smart devices as well as acting as pretty tools are to be practical. It only takes one note at a time to make a difference.

It doesn’t matter if members of your family are near or far or if they’re crazily busy as long as they recognize the importance of technology. In such cases you won't tell where the boundaries begin and where the lines stop and people still don't believe me until they press the send button. But don’t overdo it, one social network at a time. So when my great uncle starts sending me Photoshopped pictures, invites me to his WhatsApp account and comments on my Facebook page I’m never going to avoid socializing the global way because we live miles apart, see each other in small doses every occasional summer, neglect postcards before they’ve been discontinued on the market. Our lives are crazy, big changes happen on an hourly basis so it makes sense swapping old stationery for a palmrest. He surprised me greatly with mastering the buttons in such quick way. So if you consider recommending a laptop or smartphone to more mature members of your family, trust me it’s transformed internal connections with mine just by adding more passwords and nicknames. Until we see each other again, technology is having family on stand by.

I love my shopping totes: linen stitches, clean lines, easy to carry, challenging to hide from rain. But my life revolves around daring moves so will just stuff them with umbrella and a couple of pouches of juice before making it obvious we’re ready to dash off.

If the three of us were a really smashing dish, Nadia would definitely act as good spice in this recipe. She adds everything we need to feel compact, shaken up and just right.

Have a wonderful weekend, friends! x
