║today my way║

Let me ask you a question... what is your favourite activity after coming home from work? Stretching tendons in a lazy pose on the sofa? Drinking coffee and catching up on soaps? Tidying up your handbag from haunting calorific bombs? I was so sure to fall in the same category yet jumped in a pair of trousers I've been wearing irrationally often, spent unbelievable half an hour on make up and voila! photo overload to be continued. I wanted to post a little bit about my make up habits and revolutions so badly I couldn't wait any longer and asked my patient husband to keep snapping. However after downloading the photo galore onto my laptop I couldn't decide if step by step tutorial was something I meant to be known for. I definitely wanted to share with you a couple of my personal beauty secrets but in rather 'finished' form.

Gladly I roasted two overstuffed turkeys on one stove meaning I also got to shoot a new outfit featuring some of the latest monochromatic grabs and can't wait to show you tomorrow. As you can see black and white (with enormous addition of life-saving grey) is holding strong on this side of the mirror.

My colouring daily routine was always easy and quick resulting in dark, smokey eyes and a touch of rouge on the apples of my cheeks. Every day, for every outing, the same order and cosmetics (face cream, sunscreen, rouge, mascara, eye pencil, eye shadow). It worked wonders but not until last week. I felt like I've given quite essential make up pieces too many days off, especially the foundation which was non-existent in my beauty bag. Neither was powder as my completion has been rather dry than oily and I thought it didn't need it. So the plan for the afternoon exploded in combining my all-time favourites with newest finds under the Maybelline brand. Never appreciated foundation surprised me as a silky smooth and very light mousse that blends effortlessly and covers imperfections leaving skin looking natural. Long lasting impression was achieved by applying pressed powder and concealer in a slim tube. When I read reviews on the FIT Me series I was slightly disappointed as the average ratings scored between 3.6 to 4 points. That's low for concealer perfectly handling around the eye area (mama knows best) and covering any facial blemishes just by dabbing it on and patting with my fingers. I don't own a ton of concealers but better to have one that works than buy more and let them go to waste.

I like mix and mingle but so far Maybelline set as I call it has wowed me with every single piece. By looking at the photos I can't help but get excited how fresh and healthy my face looks like (and on many busy days it can just look the total opposite) also thanks to medium pink blush in a paler version than I normally use. As for the eyes - mascara is a big thing in my beauty bag, to complete the look I used Benefit's They're Real and topped it off with Givenchy's brush. I'm not a lipstick fan but as the weather warms up lip gloss was incorporated into the look. I think there's glam girl in all of us - let her out more often, shall we?

Mama in me couldn't help choosing other topic to write about then the one constantly sitting on my mind. Yep, my princess and beginner in the art of photography as appearing above. About how funny she is while discussing important matters and gesticulating vigorously, dancing to any melody shaking her hips to keep up with the tune, repeating each English word tirelessly even if pronunciation makes us both laugh like there's no tomorrow. On this dreary winter day pushing hours quicker than I can bear, I want to collect as many dear moments as possible and fill in my pockets, store them in my handbag to take out when having a lunch break at work to perk up the room. Today more like any day she's hugged tighter, running away half-crying half-excited knowing we'll only have this evening for ourselves until late hours tomorrow.

So with the last full stop I'm heading to catch her running before bath time and tucking her into bed she'll tell me what she'll be doing tomorrow. And I'll hold on to it for the rest of Saturday.

We went water crazy last evening and there were many factors included to make our family quality time as precious as it could be. It wouldn't have been possible without our sparkle, an apple of our eyes that made us laugh, run back and forth out of the bathroom, play hide-and-seek under the towel. It's never as much fun as when there is the three of us frolicking without the care of the world and who will be tidying up the space later. So the best time is always in the evening when daddy comes from work and hugs his girls juggling affection and carefree play (or not juggling at all and so the crazy evening begins!). Not forgetting new lens perpetuating digitally the impractical yet best ever use of our shower room - Canon camera capturing the spirits.

P.S. Promised make-up post will be re-scheduled for later due to some bathroom re-arranging and instruction manual reading ;) Have a fabulous day early birds and late owls! x

When I'm on a mission to find some more cute little pieces (a girl of any age can never have too many clothes... the truth is she's growing so quickly I couldn't blame it on my washing machine's shrinking mechanism) I try to stick to two leading colours and secretly match it with what I'd be wearing alongside. A little mummy's treat. As you might already know - yellow is big in our house this season so I just couldn't not tuck away more awesomeness of that shade. I'm itching to do a very sunny post when the weather allows to see it all come together. Look carefully for any brightly dressed people walking in your neighbourhood. That's just might be us (or any other weirdos).

Stay happy and come back for a make-up post tomorrow. Covering eye-bags and little imperfections has been mastered since the first sleepless night around here!

Black turtleneck sweater: Mango, Panda jumper: Asos, Trousers: ESPRIT,
Black studded boots: Barratts, Biker jacket: Aviatrix Leather, Mustard leather handbag: Boden

I love Mondays. Week after week for the past three and a half years.
I can sense eyes rolling and heads nodding. Who would like Mondays when everything that's fabulous about day to day happenings is materializing late on Fridays, stretches through Saturday and lounges blissfully on Sunday? Not a single soul (me included back in past decade). But it turned out on this side of the screen that week is too good to me showering us with more things to do and enjoy than we have energy for. Mondays are like new inventions, my Fridays, first days of a five day mini vacation.
Happy Monday, my dear readers! Who is rushing to work - have a fabulous day in between seemingly endless tasks, who is getting on a school run - have the traffic under wraps. Those of you who are spending Monday according to your own imagination - balance it with countless laughs, awesome guests and accurate tummy fillers. What are you going to do today? Post it in comments and I secretly won't mind if it's way fabulous than what we have in mind.

I've been lusting after some colour lately (and the lust is growing daily!) which finally made appearance as a mustard yellow handbag mentioned here. Welcome spring!

This is just a quick note to my lovely readers before midnight rolls around and I barely open my eyes in the morning hurrying to work. I'm so happy for every visitor and passer by who decides to get excited over our crazy-happy-normal(ish) days at the seaside. If anything goes according to plan hopefully I'll be hosting my first giveaway to thank you all. In the meantime I'll explain the Photoshopped picture supporting today's post - it's forth day of my blogging challenge and it marks 'Three important people in my life' - in no particular order as I'd give my life for all of them - my baby girl, my hubby and my little (something above 5'11 in height to be exact) brother.

I've never really opened up about how much I love my little girl as I thought it was too intimate, private and so beautiful I wanted to keep it for myself. I love our lazy mornings when we cuddle in bed, watch videos on my phone, come up with ideas what to do with the day waking up. I love how she's growing up, changing - chubby cheeks have transformed into pretty slender girlie face, eyes haven't stopped being curious and words fly out of little lips quicker than snowballs on a white day. I'm so grateful she's the girl I get to throw my arms around each day.

Damian has been my best friend, my rock, my lover for the past decade. I've spoken about our relationship here and a bit throughout the blog (go and find it in archives :). I await every shade marking days spent together with excitement and believe me, the darker... the funnier.

And my heart can barely handle my brother coming to visit us in a short time. This.is.just.awesome. He's the number one person I feel so natural with and maybe sometimes I act like that big sister with all that unnecessary reminding and sermonizing but I feel I have to protect my bro somehow. Be there for him. (I promise to tone down when you come over).

Happy weekend, friends! x

Dress: Dorothy Perkins, Biker jacket: Aviatrix Leather, Scarf: Atmosphere, Leather boots: Barratts

Rain not ready, slightly on a lighter side considering the fabric of my dress to town we went. Or drove, thanks to my motorized friend. I was more than just a little bit excited to take my devil red number for a walk before pairing it with black pieces to let it shine in the winter sun although I wasn't sure what to expect after 2.00 in the afternoon with the clouds suspiciously marking our every step. After exhausting my eyes and fingertips through rows of racks and snapping a few essentials we headed home before taking some pictures in an abandoned car park due to late hour and cold wind making appearance out of nowhere. What I like about outfit posts that I'm becoming friendly with is the chance to see it as a finished project as opposed to what it has looked like in my head. I should eventually have it under control ;)

And here is me going strong with my blogging challenge: 'Your favourite quote and why you like it'. I'm naturally made of quotes and wise sentences so choosing only one is like choosing yellow over red. Impossible for me! I managed to favour two - one being my all time living by motto while the other spoke to me almost without words just recently. Here they are: 'You only live once and if you've lived according to your belifs, once is absolutely enough.' And most of all dedicating my life to the one below.
