║today my way║

Being a regular reader/commenter/passer by of my blog, you'll have no problems deducting who my role model and inspiration is. And you will definitely find a way to figure out who is stepping (literally) in my idol's shoes and doing it extremely convincing. There's barely enough room for one queen, but two? ;)

It wasn't super long or carefully planned but visually and mentally soothing experience when the sun set as I walked along the shoreline collecting pebbles and balancing on the rocks of Lulworth Cove. I guess we have spent too much time within concrete walls so the open space was something all of us needed. And by saying us I meant my little family plus two visiting guests from Poland. Where would have we taken them if not over 270 metres above sea level! The wind was rather disturbing and got creative with my hair lashing our bodies from every angle. Even though we managed to head down to the nearest village for a hot drink we knew we had to go back up again. Catching up with a regular breathing I've added a way too many photos of this beautiful spot to my collection. We visited a couple of other places that week so check back where the wind blew us this time.

As for the jacket that hardly left my shoulders for the past... erm ages, here is an update - a couple of days ago a black version has arrived. It's still familiarizing with other two grabs for winter I got my hands on and will appear here soon. Until then I'll do the impossible and sort the expanding pile of (little) clothes casually resting on the couch.

Hoodie phone cover for cooler days
Frozen smiles ice cube moulds that work without sanitizing
Guitar bottle opener key rings come with their own cases
Crazy hair bandana on a really bad hair day
Camera lens coffee mug easily mistaken for a real one
Comic photo frame to make fun of events
Record coasters for a few rounds more
Guitar spatula for all things sticky
Music lovers' socks to be seen up close

Not usually gift, gadget and accessories websites attract my attention as I find their collections to be silly and bad quality they even send you a brochure of. If however there is a wide range of good quality, original gifts that have that instant 'wow' factor I'm all eyes. The above compilation of my favourite items can be found on Presents For Men (as well as for girls) site. Balancing between practicality and fun, these little pieces above could transform my autumn in nano seconds.

As I am just starting up a journey of sharing life's numerous intrigues with watchful eye of fellow bloggers I think shedding a small amount of information evenly throughout the blog is much needed. I couldn't figure out what I really wanted to write about, I guess serious elaborating is a must for later but after making following more than five blogs one fiftieth of my daily routine I have a clear picture of what will actually see the daylight. Moving from a bit chaotic previous blog to a cosy, minimalistic in design nook over here was the best thing that could happen just before Christmas keeping me busier than ever but embarrassingly excited. I hope this combination of words will satisfy your curiosity for a start and we will meet more often.

So... I am Eli (short for Elisabeth) an owl - I love to stay up late at night when I can fully perform - specially read or write. I live in the south of England, a frog jump from the coast spending days and months on the top floor of a new built two bedroom flat, sharing space with my beloved husband and rosy cheeks of my three year old daughter. I come from Poland but having lived in the UK for more than 8 years, I can share its citizens' sense of humour, love for other countries' cuisine and lukewarm feelings towards weather. Windy, recently. And as much as I love independence and peace, I miss my family who lives abroad and that includes my parents (however divorced), younger brother, aunts and uncles, some friends from school. Everybody, to be precise. I am a working mum and staying-at-home mum sharing life between busy weekends and lovely weekdays when my doll shows me all her love with every move, skip and sound. That's the reality. There is always subconsciousness, dreams, hidden meanings, the ability to discover every opportunity to stay happy in my own skin, my own environment and any environment possible.

This post was of course planned for a few days before but I was caught up in things from an autumn range (online shopping included) and couldn't possibly skip puzzle arranging or Disney characters drawing so here's the throwback of our family's recent visit to stony Corfe Castle village nestling under the dramatic ruins of Corfe Castle getting a glimpse of the local life and a speedy ride to our beloved town of Swanage where cod and chips taste better than anywhere in Purbeck. It was a cold but sunny day of much needed exploring.

This grey jacket with some slight variations needs no introduction and is pretty much my cold weather ally. Just to say if you'll get bored of constantly seeing its pockets and buttons I have already started rummaging through online racks for its winter version.

And here we stomp on a cold wintery seaside where everything that's colourful and head-turning happens in curiosity shops (pictured above together with ever curious doll of mine) or town center windows in preparation for this season's biggest event. In addition to working mama's activities I have added a new exciting time consumer which takes me from one blogging platform to another. Yes, I have posted last spurt of thoughts early in October but was tempted by a new challenge which consists of features that are meant to be my new world of words, pictures and emotions - this blog. I write every day, so why not reach those who read every day (or on occasions or just browsing). I hope this nook of things that inspire me will change the way your day progresses, sun shines and exclamation marks are used. Let the affair commence and happy browsing!

Time to take a look at the recent party Nadia was the reason for. It was built around light food (full shelf of jellies like I was stocking up the whole supermarket and fruit kebabs), quiet games (puzzle arranging to start with and galloping around the flat to finish off) and bonding with distant family. It is never easy for me to choose the right food everyone will enjoy but the soft cheese and salmon bagels are a definite must. Help yourselves and tell me if you agree with my picks.

Nadia is excited whenever there are people around, much more if they are children so one minute she was wrestling with the wrapping paper to go running the next leaving it half-torn. Gifts were more on a practical side this year popping up in a form of clothes (green polka dot dress the happy girl is wearing) and developmental accessories (puzzles and books). If you can spot Nadia's new vehicle she innocently pointed at in store, you can imagine what a race course this flat has become. And a new favourite parking spot is temporarily in the kitchen, just right in front of the washing machine. I wish it was left in some more peaceful surroundings but this way I have my muffin close by even more often. The evening came unnoticed while we were chatting, laughing and watching Nadia's dress swish on a carpeted dance floor. The most enjoyable three years of my life have been summed up in a combination of tiny lips covered in chocolate, stains on my leggins from yummy sticky fingers and crumbs all over the apartment. It's unbelievable how time never rests in the eyes of a mother who gravitates towards getting to know her little girl more everyday. And I will keep on gravitating because I can't do anything else to get to love her more and know her better.

Hi, how are you?

I'm Eli, an optimist in training collecting an awful lot of ballet pumps and spending too much time admiring the sea. You'll find me writing about the joys of parenting, fashion, simple pleasures that all together create a beautiful life. xx
