END OF JANUARY HAPPENS TO BE PRETTY SPECTACULAR
Our joint portrait is being sketched since the first sign of interest in each other and will continue until the last grey hair. We don't always hold hands, we sit beside but sometimes run alone. Usual story that keeps us up on our toes and never allows to get bored, without a doubt the best lifetime experience imaginable (together with parenthood it is just a roller coaster ride for the clueless). I'd like to dedicate this post to person I've been inseparable for more than a decade, 11 years have found us in a decent shape and form, most especially being able to find a snippet of time to spend this day together. Here is a collection of meaningful things I could and couldn't live without since our dating era.

I could mostly live without...
- Loud snoring when he reaches his REM stage
- Being asked to the table when I'm reading/blogging/being miles away
- His indecisiveness to numerous ideas of mine and a lot more reasons against them (to eventually going along with my plans and enjoying them to bits. Like I didn't know he would have loved them)
- Side effect of being overtired: coming straight from work, picking up toys and silently putting them back where they belong (quiet before the storm).

But I couldn't possibly make a day without...
- Giving up my share of quilt so I get to cuddle more to warm strong arms
- Blue eyes following me everywhere as I step out of the shower (and most definitely without any fabric on)
- His sweaty T-shirt that stays with me until I get awaken by Nadia's wriggling little body
- Phoning or texting several times a day not being rebuked for bothering him at work especially while his boss is accidentally standing next to him
- Being thought of even when I sleep (as he wakes up early and sometimes makes me breakfast)
- Roasted chicken and mashed potatoes in a delicious gravy (even without salad)
- Getting a gentle peeling with his unshaven jawline
- His smiling face greeting me out of wound down car window every time he's patiently waiting for me (mostly being late) and not going on about it (for the first fifteen minutes)
- Him curling up beside me in bed when we get a chance to lay side by side (chances are slim but we keep trying)
- Hot chocolate made with love (and milk not water) served exactly ten minutes (with the timer accuracy) after stirring the powder in. I don't know who I'd be taking with me on a deserted island - him or the timer, lol

There are a lot more reasons why my heart skips the minute I see your face, Dee. I'll keep collecting them with you by my side. xxx

WONDER OF A GIFT, MEET MY HUSBAND

WONDER OF A GIFT, MEET MY HUSBAND
WONDER OF A GIFT, MEET MY HUSBAND

Exciting campaign 'Giving Extra to Someone Special' provided by my new Santa this year, one of the English banks found us talking about the perfect present for that special person just in time. You know, the one that makes us all nervous to get it just right. I happily grabbed the opportunity (and Amazon voucher for the purpose) to show just how well I really know that special someone by getting him that perfect gift and you better believe I am going to tell you all about it. Before I’d hop on any idea let me tell you how my clever reasoning worked...

Men (from my 5'3" perspective) dream of fancy things but are afraid to admit it. They're into toys but don't want to be seen as immature. And they actually like to be able to USE them outside the sitting area so no mugs with inappropriate bumps and lumps, slippers that loose pieces by the third day, books they go after the title and credits because that's when you're still watching. I mean a long lasting toy he can show to his mates and score some good points, a gadget of a fair value and within his knowledge how to operate it. Girl, you got yourself into a case to handle because the obvious will not work around here that's for sure. Socks? Yes, he's got at least 50 pairs but does it give me right to add to the collection? I could play with cotton content and the thickness of fabric, that could be fun but I've learnt through past purchases that clothes are only right to give him if he's over 70 or specifically pointed at his fingers freezing up on the steering wheel. All the clothes Damian was given were a hit but the awe kept him so surprised he still thinks he might have to give them back so I don't attempt to dress him, at least not over caroling season. You gotta have some self control!

So he weights it gently carefully removing layers of my loving. Smile is a good sign as he goes further unpacking unnecessary blend of plastic and paper. Here comes his gift - a pair of wireless speakers (thanks to fabulous reviews with only one owner saying: 'these headphones are too tight for someone with not a particularly big head and they fully enclose your ears.' Oh man, how was I going to go round this?). More comfortable than pair of socks, more glamorous than pants purchases happening regularly. Just give him a minute to bask in their silver glow. Hit or total miss? Special gift or specifically unfortunate? I got a little wild with my choice but I kept the wow factor, likes and level of his expertise in mind at all times (only being distracted by dropping this mohair shawl into the basket). Think of the possibilities! Perfect for running after a busy toddler while listening to his favourite tracks, learning how to play electric guitar with his online course, watching movies while we girls have more important stuff to do. And they go with almost everything I bought him the previous years in case he's tempted to forget. x

11/30 - INHALING CHANGES AS LONG AS WE SENSE THEM

He comes from work straight into the living room to touch my cheeks with his lips, all happy with himself, a little sweaty, with disorganized collar but seriously, not even joking, in his most handsome self (there are those handsome sides of my husband I cherish but favour only a few... and yes, you guessed it, the sweaty one completes me). That evening I followed him curiously to the bathroom and as welcome as I felt this awful humid environment didn't do me any good but I stayed for a quick chat nonetheless. Nothing out of ordinary, this is our fairiest location for a discussion after a long day at work, me leaned over a door-frame gesticulating ridiculously and him shouting over the hot streams of water. Normalcy. That evening, before any of it commenced I looked at him the way I find myself looking at him lately. It is such a weird way to say but I said I was glad to be able to recognize him changing. I know how rude I was by saying it but I really and positively find my husband's evolving features a miracle. You know, we might wake up by each other's side in thirty years time asking terrifyingly: 'what has happened to us?' Instead I want to pause at occasions to admire his changing jawline and hairline. I imagine reminiscing those exact moments when he was so young and perfectly shaven before each of our dates I could mistaken it for my skin, flirtatiously pouting his full lips when looking my side. The ability to remember him exactly as he is now - masculine with greying skull, so serious at times, still with this funny spark in his blue eyes. I'm ready for him appearing different, I'm hungry for the facial features exhausted with youth settling down at my loving glimpse. I hope I'll always remember this boy, this man, the textures, the smell. Changes I've contributed to.

On the contrary, he still finds me that delicate, young girl he met a long time ago. Don't ever let go of that impression, Damian. xx

^^ This post is part of my 30 day Blogging challenge this time asking about the participant's relationship. Because I've opened up about mine before I thought I tell you this instead. Hope you liked it. x ^^

WHERE DO YOU WANT TO BE IN 10 YEARS?
WHERE DO YOU WANT TO BE IN 10 YEARS?

I hardly plan the next meal, activity of the day so yeah, 10 years from now gets my heart racing. I'm not sure though if this confession is more of a business plan, wishful thinking or a reality check when you fast forward your life and realize that however it has turned out, it's been pretty darn awesome nonetheless. It will have as long as we're together, healthy and not stressed out to the bones.

I'd wish to be a successful writer with a house overlooking the bay and my little yacht swaying on the dock, travel lands and seas, be able to visit my family every time the need sparks in my heart but most of all I want to live a real, interesting life, not perfect. With its ups and downs, past some big issues and approaching new ones, choose to live now and for those I love. My life is now a life of three people, their needs and wishes. Where do they want to be in a decade? I couldn't possibly answer this question rather than saying that I'm building my life every day if I'm aware of every second of it or not and if from all I would have achieved I could have said I loved and was loved, found happiness in the simplest of things I won't need to catch up on anything.

And there still must be lots of silly things to do, I'll make sure there are! Have a lovely weekend, friends! x

BIRTHDAY BOYS AND THEIR GIRLS

BIRTHDAY BOYS AND THEIR GIRLS
BIRTHDAY BOYS AND THEIR GIRLS
BIRTHDAY BOYS AND THEIR GIRLS
BIRTHDAY BOYS AND THEIR GIRLS

May is one of those months when I love to cuddle unnaturally much. One person only. And organize a surprise party complete with bottle of champagne, chocolate cake (not pictured but tasted really well with sparkles, believe me), muffin mini-candle-stand, people jumping out of bedroom shouting 'surprise!' on top of their voices (highly pitched girlie sounds included). Because this man of mine turns a whooping thirty four unknowingly dragging me along with him in this year of birthdays (there are still plenty ahead!). But that's just great with me as I couldn't imagine anyone else posing next to me on the last photo, neither anyone sharing this little space we call home. So I wanted to make it as 'wow' as possible and came up with an idea of cutting little hearts from red cardboard, writing cute messages and hiding them in more or less visible places for Dee to have a little peak around (out of 34 only 4 hearts not found, let's be honest my hiding things skills are rubbish). Hunting through coming to life closet I have chosen navy blouse with a heart made of zillions of studs and paired it with sticking with me for good and bad blue o'l jeans. Birthday boy came straight from work so didn't have a chance to get changed among those incredibly whimsical activities (of which taking over party table was his best).

Food consisted of cheese crackers eaten with selection of cheese (erm... yes), smoked salmon and cucumber, popcorn and lots of bubbly. There aren't many photos of our children in this post as they took over the job of redecorating our bedroom. I'm sure they wanted it to look grander and super cool. There may be some tricks to achieve more interesting perspective out there but none of them compares to our kids' imagination. Even the largest of spaces appear tinier than they possibly are with the content of drawers being distributed around by little hands. Once they nailed the decor everything else fell into place ;)

It was so much fun to be partying with such wonderful people. Cheers!!

We went water crazy last evening and there were many factors included to make our family quality time as precious as it could be. It wouldn't have been possible without our sparkle, an apple of our eyes that made us laugh, run back and forth out of the bathroom, play hide-and-seek under the towel. It's never as much fun as when there is the three of us frolicking without the care of the world and who will be tidying up the space later. So the best time is always in the evening when daddy comes from work and hugs his girls juggling affection and carefree play (or not juggling at all and so the crazy evening begins!). Not forgetting new lens perpetuating digitally the impractical yet best ever use of our shower room - Canon camera capturing the spirits.

P.S. Promised make-up post will be re-scheduled for later due to some bathroom re-arranging and instruction manual reading ;) Have a fabulous day early birds and late owls! x

This is just a quick note to my lovely readers before midnight rolls around and I barely open my eyes in the morning hurrying to work. I'm so happy for every visitor and passer by who decides to get excited over our crazy-happy-normal(ish) days at the seaside. If anything goes according to plan hopefully I'll be hosting my first giveaway to thank you all. In the meantime I'll explain the Photoshopped picture supporting today's post - it's forth day of my blogging challenge and it marks 'Three important people in my life' - in no particular order as I'd give my life for all of them - my baby girl, my hubby and my little (something above 5'11 in height to be exact) brother.

I've never really opened up about how much I love my little girl as I thought it was too intimate, private and so beautiful I wanted to keep it for myself. I love our lazy mornings when we cuddle in bed, watch videos on my phone, come up with ideas what to do with the day waking up. I love how she's growing up, changing - chubby cheeks have transformed into pretty slender girlie face, eyes haven't stopped being curious and words fly out of little lips quicker than snowballs on a white day. I'm so grateful she's the girl I get to throw my arms around each day.

Damian has been my best friend, my rock, my lover for the past decade. I've spoken about our relationship here and a bit throughout the blog (go and find it in archives :). I await every shade marking days spent together with excitement and believe me, the darker... the funnier.

And my heart can barely handle my brother coming to visit us in a short time. This.is.just.awesome. He's the number one person I feel so natural with and maybe sometimes I act like that big sister with all that unnecessary reminding and sermonizing but I feel I have to protect my bro somehow. Be there for him. (I promise to tone down when you come over).

Happy weekend, friends! x

I am an avid blogger and while not writing I'm constantly on a lookout for subjects I'm excited to tell others or experience them first-hand. You see, if you mention a challenge I'll stay glued to the opportunity like a postage stamp to the top of that postcard you meant to send last summer (a bit worn out but strongly holding on). So wandering quietly through blogging platforms and reading latest stories I have stopped browsing at the appearance of the above mentioned word - 30 Day Challenge of telling you more about myself in short sentences and high resolution pictures. Let's get to know each other, shall we?

'Your favourite picture of yourself, three facts and three goals' is marking Day 1.
It's not much a favourite picture of myself but it makes it such because of the two of us smiling for the camera. Taken on holiday in our home country four months before getting married reflects this quiet undisturbed happiness of ours and a thrill of soon being his wife. It makes it special to me as well because of our two baby cousins jumping on us and pulling his shirt out on that visit that seeing how patient and understanding he was made my heart jumping with delight at recreating such sessions with a bundle of our joy (not too sure now ;).

Three facts about myself... This is harder than I thought!
1. When I read my favourite magazine I really soak it up from front page to the last. Adverts and motorized section included.
2. I've held a provisional driving licence for the past five years. This is how I got used to being driven and relying on public transport.
3. I got my ears pierced for the first time just a month ago. How I survived without those blinking babies for such a long time, I don't know!

Three goals... hope it's easier.
1. Start writing regularly and in the world of day to day challenges of being a busy mum and a heck of a lot of other roles I play (of which being a pony to give Nadia a piggyback is the most common) don't let any creative moment go to waste, so picture me dropping a line in between stirring the sauce on a pan or playing hide-and-seek. Oh yeah, crazy blogging mum!
2. Shortening time for sleep (however horrific that may sound!) and committing to rush those lashes from early on in order to earn extra hours for things that cannot be done on a regular basis and are devoured by ordinary day to day activities.
3. Dust off selection of my cook books to start being adventurous about food and dare to use everything with excitement and hope for tasty results. If you're an avocado, kale or tuna - watch out as your days on the store shelves are numbered. I have been passing you by for far too long!

Tomorrow I'll take you somewhere special. x

On one of those cold days of late January when you're wrapped up in layers of clothes, queuing with messed up hair and red nose (glad it wasn't running) to find yourself being glanced at by two laughing boys. Like, really identical. I looked around as if saying: 'you laughing at someone else or me?' It was annoying like they were talking about me and burst out laughing once in a while. Especially one of them was a bit too stridently catching my eye. 'Next time our eyes meet I'll show him who he's dealing with', I thought angrily to myself and all I remember was talking to him as he came up to me and introduced himself using clever line like 'Don’t I know you from somewhere?' He definitely didn't but our first chit chat felt so easy going and I really liked the way he made me feel: so cheerful, flirtatious and confident. We exchanged our mobile phone numbers and went our separate ways (he was accompanied by his twin brother). He wouldn't have ever made that call unless... I had done that first because I noticed I gave him the wrong number. I just got my first mobile phone few days ago and simply didn't memorize the number correctly. I knew there was something special about him, so much fun to talk to... I have never regretted making that call.

Just like in Shakespeare plays the early stage of our relationship abounded in whirlwind of mixed emotions expressed so intensely we could hardly keep up with. Young fresh love collided with unfortunate outer circumstances like family affairs, unemployment, dreams that had to be put on hold... And then I went to Germany for six months. By myself. It was the hardest experience to date but I knew I wanted to be with this man and if he would have waited for me - he'd have made me the happiest girl on the planet. I refused to think otherwise and concentrated on der, die, das part of my journey. Guess what? He was there for me and still is. While going through our dating photos, I keep coming back to the one above, taken around summer days of 2007. It means a lot to me because it was taken in the country we've both kept conquering.

Being loved and cared for as I haven't before is the best thing about being Damian's wife. We're the perfect clash of two opposite worlds gravitating towards each other. Nothing beats our different points of view, tastes, even sleeping and waking times. He makes me laugh hourly and mad daily (sometimes the order changes) but most of all he makes me HAPPY. I love you, Dee - today and always.

And happy Valentine to us and everyone looking after someone's heart!
