║today my way║

inspiration is inspiration

Every single day starts the day before. In mind, through emotions if awaiting something special.

'Sometimes life is about getting things done. At the moment however, the focus is on broadening your horizons in general, and on exciting encounters and worthwhile ideas in particular.' I am always in awe of how true and surprisingly accurate monthly horoscopes are sometimes. I don't usually believe in what they say, however when they say how it is, I truly get the feeling somewhere in the stars there is the energy, a helping hand creating my life, a sensitive eye watching my every step. I have always been fascinated by human thought and the power of one's mind - any way of thinking, an attitude attracts the same occurrence, thoughts carve our reality, by using positivity we can influence good affairs to come. Probably you've already sensed the book resting its back next to my bed being a great source of energy/mood booster among these walls - 'Secret' by Rhonda Byrnes.

Life goes on outside the web if I like it or not where negativity and bad attitude is rarely allowed but happening with the same consistency as in other households and no matter how creatively I pull myself out, there is always a snippet of life getting it its way. No big deal, I have two sets of arms to hold me in and kissable lips I'm never short of to ease the burden, help me take one step at a time, sometimes two, always in the right direction. Occasionally I risk it and let my mind wander in dangerous areas of doubting good things to come. And then comes my motivator, a 'big strong hand to lift me to my higher ground' - I turn its pages drawing every word, saving notes, visualizing things. Because it's not easy to see one thing and believe in other but what's the choice? If you believe in Secret or not, it's always better to aim for optimistic positive approach, right? Wake up and feel reasonably good about things ahead and around, right? Outer circumstances shouldn't dictate the mood I'm in, the choices I make.

Can anyone stop you from doing what you want? Poor will be the man wanting to achieve this once you've decided on your happiness.

stripes on whites and us
stripes on whites and us
stripes on whites and us

I might be one of those mums who spends day after day with her flower sharing grown up meals, jumping on already bit too bouncy bed, reading books on every animal subject and yet when we have to spend a couple of hours apart due to my training at work or work itself it makes unbelievable difference to the quality of that day. It feels strange to be away from her while still picturing her running around or playing dress up with my shoes. Once I'm back home I just want to sit with her, cuddle and feel her softness for ridiculously long time. There's no way to get out of my arms because at the same time she wants to hear what I'm whispering to her ear or likes the tickle ending every attempt to escape. Time flies like nothing comparable and I will never refuse to catch up with all things important like hearing the latest song or frolicking on the sofa. Not even if I had plans or just headed out the door. Our girl time is what matters the most.

Speaking of plans I've had a mum-daughter matching outfit on my mind for some time, blame the weather for not allowing me to shine on that one until now. Thanks to spring's first attempt to put her shaven leg out towards our part of the world and my evil plan has been materialized. Lots of stripes and classic black and white combination that's easily adaptable we could just live in it entirely. Do you think we rocked that one? x

perfect sliding into the weekend

You knew it was coming - my new found fascination vividly gravitating towards the camera touch button of my phone. Used, already scratched screen protector - the price I pay for emotional involvement to capturing a heck of a lot of daily occurrences. Addictive but manageable. On most days minding its own electronic business on the kitchen counter. Until we're amused again. Have a great weekend, friends!

What will make her heart swing? Every time she goes back to that precious time in her life invited by an accidental image, sound or flavour will she want to stay there unbelievably long? Will she have this nostalgic affection to all things from her childhood like slightly scratchy blanket, teddy bear without ear, memories of beach being deeply a happy place from crispy dawn till breathtaking dusk? I would so much love if she did as each thing can be equally satisfying today as it will be in years to come.

This brings me to a 30 day blogging challenge in drawing attention to 'my earliest childhood memory'. I could easily recall the contentment many of them add to my life but that faded, a little mysterious memory due to my age and circumstances of that time has always shouted warmth the minute I brought it out just like a book from the shelf. I can see my mum's hands holding me tightly in her arms, perhaps lulling to sleep while my only a couple of months old eyes are curiously wandering out the window and landing on the cold, greenish metallic body of a tank sneaking in behind buildings. My mum can't really remember that particular day but I'm holding on to that memory with all my strength - her arms gave me warmth and security in times of revolutionary changes when Polish government drastically restricted normal life by introducing martial law in an attempt to crush political opposition. I'm safe and content there, calm as never before. I guess we all seek that blissful state throughout our life. I'm happy I can still go back to that time whenever I want to. x

A lot of time we're not even thinking that we're into something exciting however exciting it is because of people involved and places visited. Days fold way too quickly to be everywhere, feel free to tag us everywhere in the neighbourhood. Since I started carrying sun on my arm and a whale on my back (SLR is the new magic word) living life in the fast lane seems to be going even faster, in proportion to the shutter speed. I love the intensity and change of scene, getting inspired just by the dash of sun or howling wind. In the meantime of life's seriousness we seek unexpected and thrilling. Nature doesn't disappoint when it comes to even simplest views - on below or above zero days. So awaiting bare shoulders weather we visited our favourite town in the area and fed swans and seagulls, wandered even more admiring views of the bay. Am I not alone in loving the fact adventures can happen in our own backyard, local market, on an evening walk to the beach? x

^^ Waking mama up and getting crazy in bed makes sense only if you don't have to rush to work or nursery (thus far) ^^

^^ Surprised by Mr Smiley finally been taken down before cleaning the window. She never paid much attention to him but I guess she's found that missing playmate. ^^

^^ 'I don't know how to convince mummy for another ride' kind of moment. ^^
^^ Hundreds of colours so why have we settled on black and white? ^^
^^ Freezing her bits off but insisting on staying on the beach. Eventually warming up by ecstatic runs and jumps. ^^

^^ Nadia's almost two year old cousin making the most of our nonattendance ^^

^^ New face on the block - my brother David towering over my astonishing 5ft 3 ^^

We've been on a real roll with avoiding domestic activities and ecstatically replacing them with physical achievements of all sorts. Fortunately weather didn't surprise us more than it normally does and two or three degrees less still kept us on our feet just as we like it. Was it a matter of being creative with our wardrobe? Only a little and only at times but teaming up with a woolen hat certainly helped. Days have gone beyond crazy with so many outings of which hiking in the forest was most pleasurable with Nadia's two uncles and her cousins on board. She loves having them around, asks about the older boy constantly so we thought giving them enough space to be playful couldn't happen on other occasion than last Friday. Add my younger brother who has stayed with us for the past week and you'll get the picture of how we're running our happy ship. He fancied a change so I jumped at the thought of having more family around and our magnolia painted walls have come to life like never before - imagine conversations until late hours when you just want to go on and on and on, thought out meals to satisfy new taste buds, following little feet to secret play areas.

Just in case my brother won't skip the wording section - I'm so happy having him here with us, discovering him again, building the loveliest community with those I love and care about. This new situation creates more possibilities for our tiny, self-reliant family as well as occasional difficulties with blogging becoming an activity I have unintentionally neglected. But we're gradually formatting new routine and making our home a snug nest for my brother is simply a pleasure. Only waiting for those 'in-between' weather days becoming full spring sunshine explosion. Will it happen soon? x
