LAYERING WILL ALWAYS BE A THING
LAYERING WILL ALWAYS BE A THING

I am a serious fan of onion layers and reusing leftovers. As we're not talking food here you're welcome to an explanation. There’s something incredibly sad about putting away those barely used in generous English sun summer tops on the far ends of drawers and underneath beds before they've gotten a real exposure so I wanted to challenge myself and create longer life for those still loved pieces. So they're gearing up for their extended five minutes of fame. Is it long sleeve season again? Worn responsibly on top of fabric covering bare skin summer vests and T-shirts are game again! We've done it before and will continue to do so because there is always going to be lots of summer leftovers in our closet and we're quite happy they're not going anywhere anytime soon. Thanks for visiting the boutique. x

THERE ARE STILL TREASURES TO BE FOUND

I do not usually quote Angelina Jolie as she is one of the quieter celebrities and rather than talk for herself, she hides behind others' words. But her recent, however compact quote: 'To get big, risk big' fired up my imagination with the idea of letting my mind shape the rest of my life. I have always been fascinated by publications describing power of human's mind and the way we all are able to turn things around just by adjusting simple thinking habits as our reality begins inside our skulls. How can I derive from the lips of a great value? (pun intended). Well, I've already pushed myself towards unbelievably risky edge by spending almost 30 years on denying my own happiness. What if I dedicate the next 30 and more years to fulfilling my dreams? Will I risk it? Will I risk spending money as I was on top of the richest list, talk to people like I was the super confident girl in town, wear high heels for everyone to hear it on pavement, make love as I was in love for the first time?

*Risking big - letting go of fear and doubt completely through stepping out of one's comfort zone. It does not give an idea of what the possible outcome might be but opens new door, shows possibilities, leaves hope. I'm taking this risk...

Can you believe Christmas is only two weeks away? As the year comes to an end, it's time to reflect on the past and focus on the future. 2013 has been like a tonic to me, shaken well, stirred ferociously. I don't mean I'm keen on herbal tea this time but I'd be glad with at least half of what it claims to be. Happy endings and happy beginnings, girls! x

HOW WE ACHIEVED THE EFFECT WE DID
HOW WE ACHIEVED THE EFFECT WE DID
HOW WE ACHIEVED THE EFFECT WE DID
HOW WE ACHIEVED THE EFFECT WE DID

This tree happened after all of it managed to happen gradually throughout the week. Every evening one more Christmas figurine or decoration appeared as starting points to a bigger event taking place much later. She arrived when the sun was down so didn't get the best of our neighbouthood. She didn't mind which was very sweet and was taken in to overheated indoors loosing a pound of needles the minute a bauble stroked her limbs. Cheers, dear. (We started treating it well and trying to survive this nonsense of a weather just above the acceptable temperature. The heat won't kill us that's for sure). She's our fourth real friend since Nadia was born and we intend never to go without the magic of having a plant indoors from then on (even if it's just for a fortnight). Born and raised on synthetic product my size or younger I was certain I would love Nadia to create long relationships with real needles which I'm excited to report is shaping up rather festively. Our spruce tree was done up the toddler style - cared for and loved at the front and sad and unreasonable where the eye can't reach. But we like it that way, I may rearrange it a little when the coolest decorative assistant is busy elsewhere but only little effort is required to preserve the original layout.

Moving onto the challenge I'm generously sharing in parts (and probably will be for the next five to six months solving you a massive dilemma how to get entertained the easy way) Christmas always brings memories of my own festive seasons from years back when things were rarely preserved digitally. Laud, illuminated, chaotic to the point of finding myself running all over the flat with wrapping paper lying around and everyone being everywhere is what I miss the most and this is how I yearn a holiday spirit to overwhelm like. Untidy but relaxed, a little disorganized or quite possibly all of the above my pad should feel like at Christmas (and at any given time ideally). Nadia makes up for the lack of too many guests around and of course tidying up never gets done the good housewife style so the harmony of our universe is temporarily preserved. Each year when a tree injects magic into our living room my heart rate is beating just that little bit faster as we decorate for the powerful emotional effect it has on us having not much of a religious message in it although we respect it wholeheartedly.

Something or someone that I miss... it is people in general, beloved ones, family members, those coming over without a reason finding me home without a touch of make up but making great coffee. It's the atmosphere that gets displayed through cozy rhythm of lights shimmering in abundance. x

CUSTOMIZING AUTUMN

CUSTOMIZING AUTUMN
Coat: Mango, Scarf: Asos, Jeans and fringe boots: H&M

Although I was born in winter (this day is coming, I can't wait), autumn’s the season that tops my all time list of things easy to love. Right now I couldn’t be happier with the view out my window and the sound under my feet. I’m in love with everything colourful afternoons and chilly mornings have to offer and more: shopping for warm clothes for my daughter, having evening board games contests accompanied by hot chocolate, eating dense soups with chunks of bread and potatoes, crisp, crunchy leaves under my feet and many more silently falling around calling us outdoors. Late autumn not only gives me excuse to wear a multitude of scarves and my woolen coat so warm I barely wear it zipped up but it also got me overjoyed with candle warmth around the flat. If I’m ever going to own a house, I will most definitely move in at this time of year to sit in the front porch after muscle weighing down with a spiced heated wine in hand. With all that and the sun setting earlier each day my mum is coming to visit. How couldn’t I be in love with it all?

MY IDEA OF FUN

Having everything decorated still take these reindeer seriously: Fab
Just because it's cold outside doesn't mean you don't need a fruit bowl: Czerwona Maszyna
Add black cat snack bowl to mess up the balance a little: Czerwona Maszyna
Roadsign cotton cushion is the thing my dreams are made of: Czerwona Maszyna
The situation with clocks is either fun or practicality. I prefer lots of fun: Fab

MY IDEA OF FUN

 Help yourself in the office:
Gentleman ceramic soap dish because umbrella is never a bad idea: Izola
Cork stoppers perfect for late evening emergencies: Fab
Everyday items need a hero: Fab
Desk clock buddy will go along with everything you stash on your desk: Czerwona Maszyna

MY IDEA OF FUN

Help yourself, kids room:
To transform a room from ordinary to super cosy you need at least one amazing piece.

Follow your heart or just the biker: Czerwona Maszyna
Kids alarm clock done right: Czerwona Maszyna

Whiteboard globe for all things urgent or oh so inspiring: Czerwona Maszyna
Heat mat will make cooking not feel like work: Fab
To preserve the best of season use leaf door stoppers: Czerwona Maszyna

And here we are with my interpretation of stockings filling! Or what's best in season in quirky sections of the internet found just in time to make a statement in countless ways. I have visited a couple of attention grabbing gadget/accessories/not-at-all-necessary-finds online stores bringing you my favourites. They range in price and character, usage and style but never in quality. That's why I love those shops, still maintain high standards alongside not always serious products. Most of them come from a Polish shop Czerwona Maszyna (Red Machine), quite a few were spotted on Fab. If you're just a little obsessed like me and want to add a spice into your interior or just where you're hanging around the most (happens to be both places) some really good things are happening on those servers. Happy December!

Tomorrow's our fifth wedding anniversary so a little sneaking out is in order. But I'll be back in a heartbeat. xx

A KINGDOM FOR A KISS
A KINGDOM FOR A KISS
A KINGDOM FOR A KISS

As a mum who stays home with Nadia for most of the week, I have to admit I’m pretty excited about school time. Next September she will start attending primary school so today is all about making small adjustments to our routine for when stopped in my tracks I'll hardly know what to do with all mornings to myself. I mean creating chemistry with time can be relatively easy but the hard part will unarguably be doing it all alone, differently, certain things will definitely not stay the same at all. I do fear walking in straight lines, picking things from store shelves and being done instead of weaving and wandering, being distracted to stare, look up or down, to stop. Or maybe I will continue the way we do it now, after all we've done it for so long. But yes, it feels nice to know it's her turn to make her space as positive and fabulous as she can no matter how many times I'll think of picking up the phone and ask how she's doing. Overwhelming to say the least.

I have applied for a school place for Nadia this week and hope for the one her cousin Chase attends. Two peas in a pod. Eight months age gap but never seen anyone so happy doing nothing really productive while holding hands, singing songs or demanding more sugar. Taking their friendship to another level I'd love to watch from afar, encouraging, dissolved in laughs and first secrets. They learn their future roles with excitement, mastering the body language not knowing the overload of incentives has already taken over. Hope they won't grow out of needing each other and I'm happy to spy it as they go by. x

BUTLIN'S
BUTLIN'S

This summer we have enjoyed various activities and visited multiple children friendly parks and nooks hidden out of the hustle and bustle of a busy town which is why we are such fans. Most mornings of not so crispy tees and straight jeans we're ready to roll to wherever less visited, overlooked and if the place can double up as something else - a pirate ship, a castle, it gets to be way more interesting.

We do think big too. Going to UK holiday parks for us is like sprinkling some fairy dust onto the scene especially as dusk starts to overtake more and more, light hitting the walls almost makes them magical. Pantomimes, shows, attractions that quicken our heart rate are definitely on our list no matter the season. So we've sat down and browsed nearer and farther fun destinations hardly sleeping knowing we're a click away to get into the Christmas spirit. Although I present you summer pictures, here are some breathtaking images from Butlin's holiday/leisure resort website to convince and inspire. My brochure is in the post and the childhood excitement takes over again.
