║today my way║

Summer means a lot of natural sugar entering bloodstream. The more ripen up sweetness the greedier we get. One basket of strawberries from our grocery store will definitely not make our season but the whole field undeniably will! After Nadia's last ballet class of this term we got changed into more comfortable ensemble and drove to the nearest farmland. We browsed over broad bean plants, picked strawberries and gooseberries but skipped still sour red/blackcurrant fields I offered Damian a handful of to my own delight (girly jokes no one understands). It was like Christmas in the peak season for Nadia: she ran, held baskets for us, ran some more, decided to pick one or two fruit and turned her head away from green gooseberries but I understand her since it's the red ones that were waiting for us all this time. Loaded with four baskets we went to the till impatiently waiting to get our teeth on the sweet finds. We're still licking our fingers! x

^^ The busiest ballerina ever, no rest for her feet. ^^

Before you scroll down you have to be warned: you're about to peruse half-naked bodies, wild animals and enter remote corners of the earth. But it will be entertaining, so yeah, keep scrolling.

It was going to be awesome because anything happening on a weekend has this extra wow factor: there's no need to get up early, get dressed even. Have breakfast? Maybe. There's a big chance that whatever you skip or overlook the day is going to end up great anyway. Or is it just what a lifetime weekend working gal thinks? Okay, you got me, my weekend life sucks. All the better, I'll ramble about my first weekend off this year not that all briefly so you have to bear with me, the kids, donkeys, ponies who ate our bread supply and whoever not mentioned but showing up later (like those two ticks found on my shoulder before I showered, tough beasts made it home safely). So we hopped in the car on Saturday morning, picked up my brother-in-law with his boys, drove 40 minutes in a stinking heat and parked in a gravely lot in the middle of sun burnt moorland hugged tightly by acres of woods. And the woods I've always been in love with (even in days when I didn't have a fancy camera to capture it with I loved it truthfully). My childhood consisted of sticks in shapes more undefined than LEGO bricks and fallen branches served as well designed playground features. I can easily get us into an everlastingly long discussion of how the forest has eaten my soul so I'll leave you with the photo galore. Let's get some love here for the woods!

^^ Outfit changes under the green roof? We liked the coolness of the trees so much that we spent all weekend here, so yeah I was high on fabric. ^^

^^ With my brother-in-law, my partner in crime and his cute son enjoying the wild. ^^

While we were unpacking car boots the kids wandered off to watch ponies minding their dried up waste (one can get used to this, I promise) and said hello to three donkeys. They run loose but are monitored and gathered annually to be checked for health, wormed and tail-marked. They're very friendly but unbelievably shy, not used to to the gentle patting on their backs.

^^ Donkeys following my sandwiches. It started the way it always starts - they get a crust and realize I am high on supplies, I give it all and make my run of shame. ^^

So now we need a break from the wild, like a year plus break because we were so exhausted after we returned to civilization. Or we can go back anytime again. The horses will know no difference.

PERFECT SLIDING INTO THE WEEKEND
PERFECT SLIDING INTO THE WEEKEND

It's kind of funny to think our daily activities are planned one or two days in advance at the most. Is it because of completely inappropriate temperature we've been having (I don't know what to tell you but 90 degrees will always feel a little inappropriate for my liking) or the idea of being awesomely surprised? I could bet on both and continue to live in the now. Because just a simple strolling down the street can turn our lives upside down as of today.

Since I was a little girl I dreamed of visiting circus full of growling animals and clowns pampered more than I'll ever be on any big night out. I wasn't allowed to go to one that showed up in my town when I was 10 because my mum couldn't afford it so whenever I see posters with ladies flying in the arms of athletic giants or tall black hats filled with white fluffiness, I'm done. I know once I pay it a visit I'd never go again and that I would be okay for a while and then all would return to normal. It will, I promise (after the techni-coloured world of illusion will reveal its magic to our awe-seeking minds today. Today! You bet I'm ridiculously excited (even for the side seat)!)

We took a bus to Nadia's nursery today for a settling session before she starts attending it from September and... I was a big hit among the talkative, colourful bunch. Nadia just rolled her eyes and went to play cars (do four year olds understand the idea of rolling their eyes?) while I ate two wooden ice creams, one hairy felt cake and topped it off with two plastic fries (thankfully without a side dish). I had to draw the line at a fried egg because I sensed the teacher's glances at what I've already eaten and frankly that's not what I came here for. Just when our time was up Nadia started enjoying the outdoors and two fishes in a little tank so I can only say that it meant something good. And when she asked to "see the children again" I might just giggled or not but I was happy. And then we walked home stopping to buy a baking set for our first muffins and had our hair ends cut with me being a neurotic mess over every inch.

Want to hear more craziness? We're checking piano to be collected for free on Saturday. Like what? To put where? To do what with it? But PIANO! How many people have a piano they're just looking at? Exactly.

(Speaking of inappropriate weather, I was joking. Who do you think I am? Eskimo?)

BEACH WILL ALWAYS HAVE MY HEART
BEACH WILL ALWAYS HAVE MY HEART

Born and bred in Polish lowlands and having never swam in the sea before, I hesitantly went to greet it. To this day beach as nature's wonder gets me pretty excited however lying on a beach towel in the dazzling sun will never make a fan out of me. I just don't like that heat pinching my skin and there's no place to hide away from it other than your own beach hut (which unluckily isn't in my possession). What am I doing on the beach then?! A girl is allowed to change her mind once in a while (and more understandably at 95 ºF).

It was the highlight of the weekend, we enjoyed it so much, I almost forgot how hot it was. I'm extremely late to the game, I know but recently purchased bikini is a pretty good sign. As long as it doesn't rain.

I CAN SURPRISE YOU
I CAN SURPRISE YOU
I CAN SURPRISE YOU
^^ My two year old nephew is always welcome for a snap while trashing toys or fallen trees. ^^
I CAN SURPRISE YOU
Top: Next, Pleated skirt: Atmosphere, Stripy skirt: River Island, Wedges: Bershka, Jeans: H&M (always!)

Forest in the summer is nothing but the perfect spot to escape the heat and since I've never been a summer or beach girl, you give me a stick, some shade, fallen leaves and life continues to go on. I'm trying to keep sunburns to a minimum so very reluctantly I came back from the woods into to reality of city dust and painful touch of metal on the skin. Stripes turn my closet on in many variations, I can wear them with just about anything, they are enough in an outfit to forgo most accessories (don't overlook oversized leaf ring which will make a proper appearance soon and 'fly' sunglasses) so let me take you on a little journey through the black and white (with a hint of devil red) and please wait until I'll edit our weekend photos.

Not really related to this but popping up every now and then: a dangerous habit of rearranging my whole life with new schedules and routines, going after what I want, stepping forward, pitching in, maintaining constant productivity. I lack the dedication and discipline that is required to become anything great, most of our daily activities need no watch, no course of action. We just go on as we please, rarely plan, mostly jump in. It delights that little girl of mine but curiosity, beautiful unrest that pushes me to take the road less traveled by is just in my nature, I guess. I'd like to see myself in always desired physical (with impact on thighs and behind) and mental shape - a bit more confident than usual, happy and relaxed, living in the now and not paying too much attention to tomorrow (and bank's interest rates).

What we do with our privacy brings me to overthinking the idea of blogging. I blog because it makes me feel good and keeps me motivated (and motivation I crave like Damian's roasted chicken). Whether it's a short story supporting a few pictures or a well-thought out outfit post, I write for my own amusement, give events my own voice. Not everybody likes me having my say especially if I've rarely had a right to it in the past. To be happy or not to be too risky? To ask and take it or to oversleep and not to bother? To laugh often and much or not to appreciate things I was given? To be or not?
I can surprise you. x

BALLERINA MAKES HER MOVE
BALLERINA MAKES HER MOVE
BALLERINA MAKES HER MOVE
Birdie top: George, Voile skirt: Vertbaudet, Summer jacket: H&M, Flower earrings: Claire's

We get up, wash, dress and spend minutes before heading out displaying our best choreography. It happens roughly every half an hour throughout the day and special ensemble is not absolutely necessary but on many Saturdays when Nadia is ready for practicing her pirouettes at her ballet classes we feel like giving her skills a proper spotlight.

I can't wait for the final class of this term when we will actually get to see her prancing in the turquoise tutu or any matchy-matchy from neck on to her shoes outfit. Part of me has been wanting to purchase a mauve leotard and pink voile skirt with accompanying leggins, ballet and tap shoes every girl in her group sports but the other part is the reason for keeping her as individual as possible but I guess it's time to let her be "like the other girls" so she can feel a part of the group and wonderfully unique at the same time. So from next term we'll stock on pink and it will just be pretty darn awesome.

P.S. I'm extremely lucky to enjoy my holiday on the day of Nadia's big performance. It's daddy's treat to accompany her to ballet school every Saturday so make room for mummy, please! x

Most importantly a few of my most loved ones from many backed up throughout those almost four years of being a mum. I love each and every one so much that printing out, displaying, sending off for personalized puzzles, notebooks, T-shirts, you name it, has gotten to the point that I could wallpaper our flat with them (believe me, I would if I had the time) or lend you a couple so you can do the same. They're my constant pick-me-up: ocean blue eyes and sunset red cheeks especially on those Nadia is only a few months old.

^^ Winter will not last another hour, I'm quite sure of that! ^^

^^ Imagine your nearly four year old doll that loves colouring... anything but the colouring books although it started off nicely with proper instruments. ^^

This post is a part of my 30 day blogging challenge of sharing bits about myself so we can get to know each other a little (well, it's more than thirty days already but I've decided to carry on at my own pace). What do your best/favourite pictures contain of? Tell me, I'm curious to find out. x
